BTW I disagree with heart always being better than head. But Im pretty sure scar is the only person who didnt get the meaning backwards hah. So I think Ben is agreeing with my above post in a way...a very rare thing among musicians or artists of any kind. |

I disagree. If we went with instinct instead of using our brain wed screw any hot chick whod let us. Thinking is good, it lets you see the future. Same with food, you instinctively want the burger and fries, so you have to resist your inner urge with your brain and get something healthy. After youre full, you thank your brain. Heart wants instant satisfaction, brain looks in the long term.
Although even more realistically, you just need a balance. |

i think its saying in the ideal carefree non deskjob non consumeristic society that "summer" represents, they might have been able to love each other. but despite the alternative living like the always happy hobbits on lord of the rings, we think freeways and customer support and parking fees and filling out rebates will make us happier, so their love isnt "realistic". |

dunno if this was mentioned...but the more BIll Hicks I watch, the more crap I realized mayard stole from the guy. a lot of tool lines are taken right from Bill Hicks' mouth. Like the stealth banana splitting the sky wide open in this song for example |

| Limp Bizkit – No Sex (feat. Aaron Lewis) Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Its a lot like "The Hollow" by Perfect Circle. People just do this to temporarily feel good, but theyre the ones getting fucked in the long run. Its almost like drugs in a way. Try thinking about fucking a girl with a shitty personality sometime during the 5 minutes after you masterbate sometime. Imagine if you felt that way all the time...
And there you have...what a real Christian feels like.
Without sex, all you have to see is personality. |

someone care to tell me what one of these band members did all day? did their lives mean anything? this song seems to be pretty fuckin deep. apparently you have to go read 3 books and watch a movie before you understand it. should i do that, or work on a degree in electrical engineering, or go watch some people hit a ball around. should i smoke weed and do LSD and fuck myself up while opening my mind to keep the world from getting fucked up? or, go to church and go to heaven while being a blind ignorant piece of shit that only causes conflict. these musician book reading eye covering LSD filled hippy people are so terribly pathetic unless they are famous as hell. i am mostly just wondering if they are happy when they go home from the party. kurts right, they listen to the pretty songs and dont know what they mean. but when its nothing..."The Walrus" mixed with something..."Lateralus"...its kind of hard to tell what to give a damn about and what not to. kind of like the bible...its a sin to get married again after divorce, people will do 400 sins and dont think much of it, and get pissed as hell and pass laws to avoid a different 400 sins from taking place. people kill! that guy thats just now going to bed after finishing his homework/working out/playing sports/working on that degree has no fucking idea about history or books or nazis or what ignorance is and what it can do. the other guy, whos 35 years old, is going to bed at 4 a.m. hes been smoking pot and jamming more music (still trying to "make it") and discussing bob dylan with the same old educated open minded fucks as hes been hanging out with for years. if you turn off all sound on your computer or mp3 player for one week...be it music or video games...you definitely start to feel something...is it really just boredom? all the cool people are going to hell anyway. Hucklberry motherfucking Finn doesnt want to go to heaven if that dumb oppressive bitch is going, he wants to hang out with Tom Sawyer. thom yorke is pretty fucking ugly with that paralyzed eye and googling global warming and making that some huge part of his life, but that guy going to bed after doing his homework is obviously ambitious. and no shit i realize its all perspective, but someone has to be wrong. theres either a heaven or not. matter cant create itself, and carbon dating on those dinosaurs may be wrong, but uranium sure as fuck isnt.
so can someone explain to me what this song is really about before my band covers it? |

toolshed - (nice original name by the way...very independently thought out for yourself)
umm...ill avoid that WSU shit...did you not get accepted to UW or something?
look silly, all im saying is its not trying to kill opinions and independent thought just because a person knows what the artist of a song wanted to tell people...rather than what people want/heard/think it does. its all in respect for the artist.
and honestly...you are WAY to quick to throw out that generic liberal shit that seems to be on every other web page on the internet these days.
but...tool does kick ass. they just might be my favorite band of all time actually... |

First off, there is a difference between what I think and what I know, and what Richard Patrick WANTS YOU TO KNOW.
If everyone made their own random meanings to a song....that would be a "way to miss the authors point".
Mabye they should split this site into two. one for the people (usually potheads) who like to make their own random meaning, and one where people actually try to find out and share what the artist IS TRYING TO TELL US. im quite sure that authors who actually have meanings to their songs get annoyed when people completely misinterpret their stuff (ie this being about kurt, an anti-bush song about an anti-kerry song, etc.)
You have "Champaign Supernova" by Oasis. Since the artists were high as fuck when they did it, they dont give a shit what people think the song means, because it never had one. This is where your point would be valid, because here there is no MESSAGE for people try to understand, so the whole "disagree" deal would work better. Other artists actually want to send a message to the world.
Oh...and the site name could be plural because there is more than one song meaning at the site....not more than one meaning per song. BUT I DUNNO DEPENDS ON HOW U INTERPRET IT WHERE WAS I WHEN YOU WERE GETTING HIGH WTF IS WITH MJK's HAIR???? |

this song is awesome, plus uplifting at the same time. thats the reason why this song and the band itself are probably my favorite things to listen to. yes they are just as skilled as other bands, but most other bands can only sing about depressing shit. this on the other hand...has the best of both worlds.
anyone know any bands similar to this? |

since it sais bro, it could possibly be about his brother Robert Patrick. Robert is the bad guy robot in Terminator 2 and was also in X-Files and a several other shows and movies.

could maybe be saying how his brother has all his acting stuff, but this band is all richard has. i hope not though... |

| Incubus – Here In My Room Lyrics

its kind of unlikely that a song would be half literal and half metaphorical. you WOULD just think that people cant find the rest of the hidden meanings, but when you have such obvious lines that really CANT have a double meaning, then you realize maybe there never was a hidden meaning and people just made one up. (its never a hard thing to do with song lyrics)
so i dont think this song means a whole lot, other than lame spoiled drugged rockstar sex. |

people got high and wrote a song with no meaning, no point.
if you make your own meaning to a song, then it really doesnt matter what the artist was trying to get across, does it? why dont you all just get high and write your own lyrics? oh...right...they wont have cool music backing them up...so they wont mean as much........ |

after seeing how thom yorke was bored and typed in global warming on google and found out it was bad and then made it a huge thing on his mind, i can see where youre all coming from. and you are right, junk dealer/the thief could and probably are referring to bush. i guess people have a reason to try to tag every song this way, pretty fucking sad if you ask me.
and the you only watch fox news limbaugh oreilly thing has been overused for long enough dont you think?
so, picture the world as a bunch of musicians. where would it would be, would you respect it, the end. |

good god. have any of you little morons thought for even a second, that maybe a british band doesnt give THAT much of a shit about american politics and just might have something else to write about? look at what you dumbasses get your ideas from:
"something for the rag and bone man", since the word BONE is in there, it is DEFINITELY a reference to one of the bush conspiracies, the skull and cross bones society!! (wasnt kerry part of it too??) did any of you shits think to look up "rag and bone man" on google and discover its a british term for a junk dealer? its a good thing we have great minds like you guys to contribute to the site.
think about other things in your pathetic lives, please. |
