The devinyls are not a one hit wonder band. This is one of my favorite songs from them. Every couple years there is a girl to come along that brings this song back to memory. Not just about rubbin one off either but more the forbidden fruit aspect. |

This is one of my favorite Tull songs off all time. The meaning is clear cut. No need for it to be overly debated. It has a central theme and sticks to it throughout. Ian is very clever in general and quite clever in this song. I imagine he took the fragmented writings of his (then) wife and unified it to the masterpiece it is now. There is one lesson to learn in all this. "Every now and then it pays to actually listen to your wife" If he never took an interest in what his wife was working on we would not be commenting now.

Again there are a lot of lyric mistakes. Seems like most of Queensryche lyrics get butchered.
It is a song of overcoming obstacles, finding strength, to perceviere over the struggles facing you. I personally see a lot of reference to a large group of youngsters in a genre that is not popular. Example: when grunge broke, there were a small group in the grunge scene that must have been ridiculed before grunge broke. "We are the strong, the youth united We are one, we are children of the light" (its actually thunder he is saying, not light though) |

Amazing that nobody voiced any opinion on this great classic song. My favorite sone from Queensryche and one of my favorite songs of all time. Whats its about? I'm thinking its about a guy looking into the face of death and kinda wondering what will happen next. He is certain he will die soon so i'm guessing a death sentence. Hell? Heaven? and then the scenerio plays out for both. By the way there are many mistakes in the lyrics |

markofsanity, I agree 100%. The idea of a soulmate who will share all your views seems great but it will inevitibly become Dull and loose its luster. Living your life through views other than your own is much, much more intriguing. You subconciously say to yourself wow, I would have never seen it that way. Or, if your other partner is wild and your timid the timid gets to see life through the eyes of the wild...etc...basically, the differences complete each other. |

The first time I heard this song I said to myself Damn, This song is a Smiths/Morrissey tribute song. The opening guitar riffs are definetely out of Johnny Marr's book. The lyrics are very much like alot of my favorite Smiths songs too. This song is tied with Jenny for favorite tracks on this CD. Anybody else hear some Smiths motivation?? |
