@redrain the brits spell center 'centre' and yet it's still pronounced the same. if you pay reeeeaaaaal close attention to the line, 'death is magic, say abracadavre.' she's pronouncing it 'abra cadaver.' so no, zombiequeen isn't wrong. it makes more sense, to me, that this be in richtofen's point of view. that's just me, tho. |

| Cradle of Filth – Tragic Kingdom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oh, hey, you're right! I wrote this down from the mini-preview of the album Cradle put up before the release of "Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder." I should have paid more attention to it. | |
| Eisley – I Wasn't Prepared Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Change the lyrics! "Oh, and I'm falling fast All around your face in strange yellow patterns" <--Oh so wrong! It should be: "And how the pollen fell All around your face in strange yellow patterns." |

| Cradle of Filth – A Dream Of Wolves In The Snow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| So this is the song that begot Queen of Winter Throned. That's fucking awesome. | |
| Shiina Ringo – Cappuccino Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Translation. Just wait a little longer for me to grow up I want to entrance you So love me as I struggle Next time we meet, I won't need a coat But I don't know if I can say it that easily ...The brown is losing to the milk's whiteness More than anything I just want to see you and touch you I want to taste everything and make sure I want this to be an even relationship Forgive me for my changing temperature And if I'm too selfish Don't just keep quiet and leave me behind With the smell of coffee between us You just can't seem to hide your superior smile ...We can't find a balance when there's only bitterness On an afternoon when the plums fall Will the two of us be able to slip through the crowd Just like today? If we're both just busy And my admiration is ambivalent I'm afraid you might forget You haven't made a single promise That you'll be here Without even realizing it, I've come to expect the scent Of this pale color that threatens to control us I want you to see through me more than anyone else And see that my badmouthing and bluffing Is a sign I'm "giving it all I've got" More than anything I just want to see you and touch you I want to taste everything and make sure I want this to be an even relationship Forgive me for my changing temperature And if I'm too selfish Don't just keep quiet and leave me behind |

| Cradle of Filth – Her Ghost In The Fog Lyrics | 18 years ago |

cruelportrait: "I was like a lycanthrope..." Read the lyrics again. He used a simile to compare himself to a werewolf. He never said he was a werewolf. Just because he said he was like one doesn't make him one. "He was quick like a fox." Meaning like one, not is one. |

| Cradle of Filth – Soft White Throat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| What I wanna know is...how did this song not make it into the original nymphetamine cut? | |
| Cradle of Filth – Queen Of Winter, Throned Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Too bad Cradle can't come back to greatness such as this. Man, they have really gone to shit recently. And I love this song. Good to see the full lyrics; free of typos and with the full "Nefarious as her winds" part of the chorus (if you can call it that). | |
| Cradle of Filth – Saffron's Curse Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Winterborn, I would have agreed with you had you not said some of the following. "...jam-packed with human emotions..." and this is why... "...For Our Inhuman kind..." Not human. "his girlfriend..." No...just no. Listen to all of Cradle of Filth's songs, through and through. They are not the same woman. If anything, the woman in this song could be Boone's girlfriend from Cabal. If anything, but I highly doubt the Dani's Girlfriend argument because not all of the songs of Cradle of Filth ever feature the same woman in the lyrics. As a matter of fact, Cradle's songs are all about blasphemy, not redemption or regret. |

| Bizzy Bone – Thugz Cry Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To KungfuChica...Were you listening to the song and transcribing this? Or did you get this off someone somewhere else? The booklet to Heaven'z Movie gave out the lyrics to this song. I see glaring contradictions in the lyrics, and I used to read and re-read the lyrics to this song from the booklet until I knew them from memory. | |
| Cradle of Filth – Her Ghost In The Fog Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Most of the words Dani uses can be found in the dictionary. Want to understand what exactly he is saying? For usage of words, dictionary. If it seems like he's using a word that doesn't exist, he probably bunched two words together to make a new one. (i.e. Nymphetamine, Thornography.) If you read Cabal by Clive Barker you might see some things alluding to the book. Seeing as how he got Clive Barker to help him put this album together (inspirations-wise, not lyrically). Doug Bradley was attached to the album because Clive Barker wrote and directed the first Hellraiser. |

| Cradle of Filth – Saffron's Curse Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Also, worthy to mention. "In a white stained chamber, bound" Coma after bound. She's bound to this white-stained chamber. The white stain is semen. "Our fecund nature decrees that Jesus wept come for The Devil on Her knees" Cum instead of come. The line should read "Our bestial ways says that Jesus weeps orgasms for the Devil on her knees." Or the lady that died and came back-- "She schemes of growing power and the lengths sucked hard to get it"-- is giving Jesus a blow job. It makes sense if you just think about it. The whole song is blasphemy. |

| Cradle of Filth – Saffron's Curse Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Throughout the song, the character that Dani plays (which is a demon, or something like it [Midian demon-- see Cabal by Clive Barker]) is a vouyer. Through arcades where shimmering snowfall Lay in state with the sad and damned A rent lament barely flung above a whisper Drew Me like a ghost to the haunts of Man I Found Her tempting fate between Her wrist and razor A kindred spirit in a graveyard Beneath the stature of a colder saviour Mist hung like thieves wreathed in scant arabesques And through the chill earth it bedwed Her drawling breast Like a come dream true under etched glass spent Making love to the beautiful dead She has sinned and severed Heaven And in it's vulgar sight Two figures writhe, but one silhouette Extends it's fingers to the light He found her, but did nothing about it, or else he would have said "I did so and so and then blah blah blah." Third stanza, "...sinned and severed..." she knows she has sinned and severed heaven, or the holy god, from her thoughts. Forsaking Christianity and being a sinner. She was already cutting her wrists in the second stanza, since that's how Dani found her. Tempting in the second stanza indicates that she's cutting, but isn't dying because of it. So now she's sliced up and she's in a cemetery, and "two figures writhe, but one silhouette extends its finger to the light" So she's not dead yet. the third line in the stanza shows a couple having sex, but only one raises its finger. Dani found her alone beneath a colder saviour-- a headstone, statue of Christ-- and he hasn't entered the equation. Yes, she's fucking a corpse, giving the light the bird. "Gothic towers tottered on Her heels As She fled asylum grounds Committing hard crimes to soft cells Where now another's screams resound" From the gaspings in Her passing Six feet under or beneath frayed gown When Her hands pointed to midnight In a white stained chamber bound I can't really say in exactitude what I get out of these two stanzas without saying most of the lines verbatim. So she's escaping a castle, or a church, and blah...I'll just leave it at that. I Swept Her from the abyss of another dementia Freeing Her soul from the fetters of fate To take the reins of pleasure Now nightwane mirrors freeze in seizure At the glimpse of charmed pins in Her thighs Ballrooms filled with black cats scratch Out of spite and playful eyes Supposedly saves her, but he pulled her soul out of her body. I'm pretty sure he killed her. Either that or she was already dying from blood loss and he tried converting her into something he was. (Midian Demon) She really is not his girlfriend. She's some bitch Dani's character found in a cemetery. I wish people would stop saying "his girlfriend this, his girlfriend that". This whole song is a blasphemy to the holy, so goddamn it, no one's trying to get saved in this song. Or any Cradle of Filth song for that matter. |

| Cradle of Filth – Suicide And Other Comforts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Oh sweet May, Dressed in grief Roll back the stone Should be Oh sweet Mary, Dressed in grief, Roll back the stone. That would be Dani speaking as Jesus inside the tomb. Not that the song is in Jesus perspective, but an allusion to Jesus "self"-righteous suicide. Though I think I should point out that this song is not really about Elizabeth Bathory. While Cruelty and the Beast (the whole album) and Dusk...and Her Embrace (song) are about Elizabeth Bathory, not every song is. Just some random woman, probably a witch. |

And Streaks of Blood. This song is by Dying Fetus.* Correction, The band Baphomet is the original performer, but Dying Fetus does cover it. |

| Cradle of Filth – Streaks of Blood Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
http://www.cradleoffilth.com/discography.html Look up the discography of Cradle of Filth. This song was not covered by Cradle of Filth. Some fucking idiot just named it that way and a lot of people downloaded the song from programs like limewire thinking this is a Cradle of Filth song. Other songs out there claiming to be from Cradle of Filth: Castlevania Bloody Tears Remix. A song from the game Castlevania, supposedly covered by Cradle of Filth. Iron Maiden's Fear of the Dark. This band sounds like Cradle of Filth, but if you listen closely, it isn't. I've yet to hear violins on any of Cradle's songs. And Streaks of Blood. This song is by Dying Fetus. |

| Cradle of Filth – Thank God For The Suffering Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Leejohn hit it right. No, this song is not about his wife, Toni, just like Nemesis is not about his daughter, Luna, who is very much alive. This song is more like Bathory Aria which is a song of lamentation for the loss of a loved, evil or sinner, one. The woman, the scarlet whore, has a name. Jezebel. The whore from The Book of Revelations. Damnation and a Day is the most biblical to date. Yep, Dani does read the bible (no, I'm not saying he's Christian or has Christian beliefs, altough he does say "God bless" at the end of Queen of Winter, Throned in Livebait for the Dead.). |

| Cradle of Filth – Scorched Earth Erotica Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The video has snippets of Cradle of Fear, the movie in which he starred as the crazed homocidal maniac who is ordered by a serial killer behind bars. I think he is saying Do mi nos as an incantation more than an actual word. But then again, that is just my interpretation. | |
| Cradle of Filth – Swansong for a Raven Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"As with our ghosts in the fog When we both turn no more." This last part should have given it all away if you had not read the interview. I mean, c'mon! The first time I heard the song I knew it was a continuation of Her Ghost in the Fog. They even got Doug Bradley again for the narration! I do not think they used Doug after Midian until Swansong for a Raven. "I was... No dark knight, breaking men like ice, I was like a lycanthrope until the moon glazed over, Lipped with blood and last goodbyes!" He was not fair, like a knight, but like a beast. After the murderous spree, he was very happy for his actions after taking revenge. "Now I dream, Enwrapt in pure clouds of the sweetest oblivion Where beauty streams, Freed from the teeth of those beasts that had come" She's gone and away from the world that would never cease to rape her. For the last part. They are now both "ghosts in the fog" *shock* and together forever-- or no more, as Mr Dani awefuckingsome Filth said. I love the break down of the song, where he says "Now I dream", and the drums just roll peacefully and then it gets heavy again. It just follows the story very nicely. |

| Cradle of Filth – Born In A Burial Gown Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
OK, I'm the only one that caught this. While I see how everyone sees the little girl being born again as a vampire, I see one crucial thing that solidifies the meaning of "Born in a Burial Gown". "She wrestles Her dreams with a delicate case Espied by Her cross on the wall" As she dreams, she is being watched by a cross in the wall. Now, vampires hate crosses, right? She she's wrestling her dreams because of it. "delicate" gives it a light meaning of just annoyance. "...And should She awake, through embrace or mistake She would take Jesus Bless foot forward and all..." Light annoyance, remember, not *hiss, choke, get it away from me, burn!*. She doesn't want to be watched by the Christ so she takes the cross and masturnates with it. The final blasphemy towards the Christ and His salvation. This song is in no way about being good and being taught evil then feeling guilty about being evil. No, that is not what Dani writes about. |

| Cradle of Filth – Funeral In Carpathia (Dusk And Her Embrace Version) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
See Cruelty and the Beast. Who is this song about? None other than Elizabeth Bathory. Lived in the Carphatian region after being married off to an aristocratic soldier. Elizabeth Bathory inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula. Bram thought of making the vampire Elizabeth herself, but later changed it to the male Vlad Tepes Dracul-a. But about this song...Freaking fucking awesome! I love this song, along with Lustmord and Wargasm. Two truly magnificent songs. |
