2 ppl. have had a growing close friendship. atm they are separated...maybe 4 a short amount of time. the guy sees the time apart as time 4 them to think bout there feelings 4 each other. he decides that the time apart is wats going 2 bring him close 2 her: 'This is going to break me clean in two. This is going to bring me close to you.' he also realises that she is exactly what he needs: 'She is everything I need that I never knew I wanted. She is everything I want that I never knew I needed.' i think maybe he has liked many chicks in the past and it neva worked out ...but now he realises that the girl who is his friend is the one he really wants. he sounds very sure of things up 2 a point (the chorus) where he starts to sound more like maybe he feels more 4 her then she does 4 him. 'It's all up in the air And we stand Still to see what comes down. I don't know where it is, I don't know when, But I want you around.' this is all jus my interpretation....but yeh. this song is just friggin awesome pretty much describes me...except the girl was in luv with sumone else. seeing these guys live was the high point of my life....GO DENVER! |

| I see this as a chick who has never actually had a companion, but the opportunity has arrived where she has what she sees as a 'hope' of love. But the singer(who is probs a friend of hers)knows the relationship isn't right, and she is going into it for the wrong reasons. He is advising her to just hold on and wait, don't give into the temptation. He says 'it feels good, is that reason enough for you?' which once again implys slightly the situation. By the end he seems drained and out of advice by saying 'Don't know how to get you out of this one'.....it's a great song very emotional with true feelings. | |
