No ones probably gonna read this, but I'm laughing my ass off here because I only read the first few pages of this um... "discussion" (if that's what you want to call it) and so far people have done a little discussing the song, and alot of arguing. Someone says Blink sucks, then 10 people go on and on about how stupid it is to say that and "your the only poser" and "poser shouldnt even exist" and "Blink is so not pop!" and saying its so dumb of people to even comment on what they dont like (seriously, we don't CARE if you dont like Blink. go tell your lameass friends. maybe *they* care) and to think of the time and effort people put into making these wonderful speeches about being yourself and not following everyone and how the song pulls people through depressing times, and then...... some other jackass, without even reading ANY of the comments before his, says something like "Blink SUCKS. you guys are posers for listening to a pop band." I mean THAT made me laugh out loud. It's really very amazing that anyone can be so stupid. Well, now to the song. I happen to be a Blink 182 fan, they do not suck, and they are pop punk. (Pop is actually short for POPULAR, meaning that alot of people like the band, meaning they must be pretty good, just in case you didn't know. ^_^) This song is really good. I did hear from my very interesting friend that it's because of some guy named Adam who wrote an email to the band or something. Although she said he would kill himself if they didn't write a song about him being depressed and suicidal so they wrote it and he LIVED. I don't know if she's right (she also says "Love peace and chicken grease" and wishes me a happy birthday at any given time of the year...), but that makes sense. At any rate, it's a really good song. Depressing yet uplifting (kinda like Headfirst for Halos by MCR. heh.) and also lifechanging. It speaks to the people. And the people like what the people like... I also agree that it's not the fault of the people who ACTUALLY ARE depressive and suicidal. It is a problem with the brain and I feel really bad for those unfortunate people who have killed themselves for tragic reasons. Well I've ranted on for WAY too long, and so I will go now, and leave you to your bickering. ~Oniichan |
