What is WRONG with you slowdance104? Look, everyone has their right to interpret, but you're blatantly missing out on the point completely. And we'll never know what Andrew really means, that belongs to him. But you are so wrong, that I can't help but comment. Firstly, it's probably about a long distance relationship if anything, NOT cheating, where on earth do you even find any lyric in there that could lead you to think it's about cheating? He misses her and doesn't even have sweaters to be warm without her. The part about JFK airport is in reference of him having to leave her all of the time, probably to go on tour. She's had the last straw, and doesn't want to wait for him while he runs around from airport to airport. "how did he become president" is just a political commentary on how things are wrong, he doesn't get to be with this girl and this idiot runs the country they live in. "somethings I'll never understand, why a country needs a god and a woman needs a man" is about how this ridiculous president is intent on the spreading of religious morals. Bush doesn't want stem cell research because he claims it's an act against god. He uses god as an excuse for his decisions. Andrew is just commenting on how he stayed up to think about how fucked up the world is. How this monster of a president is trying to make god the leader of the country. And the line about a woman needing a man, is just a comment on homosexuals, Andrew appears to think it's ridiculous that this country needs a god and that homosexuals aren't allowed to be together. I think everyone is entitle to their opinions, but I just feel like you missed out on the other possibilities. Why does a song have to be about forlorn lovers? They can be political commentaries, they can be anything. Maybe you are right, but there is very little proof lyrically to back you up on your haphazard theories. |
