| He's dangerously addictied to a girl, he realizes he must givie up a love he held dear because he knows its killing him and that she holds too much power over him. He is comming to the decision to cut her loose, but never to regret. | |

| maybe its like a couple wishes they could take the other for granted simply because they care so deeply, and it frightens them. Both are having commitment issues, the guy because he knows that the girl has grievances and stuff, he almost wishes he could be free of her baggage but he cares too much about her. the girl has problems with trust and is afraid to depend on anyone because she's been broken in the past. It could be either one of them trying to deny love to quell fear. | |

I guess the main point of this song is pretty self explanatory..but there were a few lines that i thought kind of um deviated? Like the line " How did we wind up this way? Watchin' our mouths for the words that we say" ..im not sure of the real intention or anything but its right after the line with shit in it..which was of course edited out for radio play and stuff..kinda an underlying message about censership or something? also the one "Wearin' the clothes of the souls that we choose" kinda reminded me of how today everyone is catorgorized in to a perfectly cut sterotype with behavioral/social standards to uphold based on their choice of clothing and overall apperance. just some thoughts i know none of this was probly ever an intent and i probly just read way too far into it haha |
