this song makes me relly sad.. not coz of the lyrics or anything (tho i can totally relate) but coz it reminds me of my old school eveytime i hear it. after i left this song became a huge craze and the guys there (i was told) would sing it for the grls they like taking off their belts n ties n hankies n stuff and then jumping from the bench!! so every time i hear this i am reminded of their crazy ways and weird sense of humour which ppl in my new school really lacked!
i also like the line... 'ur beautiful...its true' coz so many guys say u look beautiful just to flatter u... this way it sounds like he really means it! |

its an amazin song by a mile!! i'm not a huge RHCP fan... but this song in particular rox!!
i thot the meaning was pretty clear... californication is the 'process' by which the whole world is changing its values. ppl think what they see in the movies or hear about in the magazines are for real and try to imitate that culture, forgetting their own roots. i guess the galmour and glitz of hollywood blinds them to the murkier reality.. and when they do realise it its probably too late. kinda makes u think of getting your own principles rite in such a world. |

the song itself is very clear... first love and wanting to bak to that time... i really relate to it... my first boy friend was the one guy i truely loved n ages after we broke up we began talkin bout old times.. 'chewing gum having some laughs' n we made this 'our song' even though we wernt sure if we should get bak together "i dont know where we are going now". just gives me a reason to love the song even more!! |
