I think this song is about how people are kept alive in hospitals on machines, and how sometimes its painful for these people to be kept alive, or they don't want to be kept alive, but other people are keeping them alive because THEY dont want to lose the ill person. I think its about how selfish people can be, and how people can put other people through misery for their benefit. Maybe Matt is talking about how we keep on developing our technology tod make them live longer, when maybe we should stop and think about whether we really need to do this, and maybe whether the person actually wants to be kept alive? |

I think this song, like most of Muse's songs, has 2 meanings. One is about a relationship, but i also think that this song is about the human race destroying the world. I mean, in the lyrics 'Cause I was born to destroy you and I am growing by the hour' it could mean the human race is growing and growing and polluting and destroying the earth and all its natural resources. OR Its about the government maybe? I do think this song has more than 1 meaning though, even if i cant really figure out what its about. |

I think this song is about the thought of a dying atheist. Hehe because thats not obvious! I think its coming from the view of some one who is utterly and totally afraid to die because of what comes next. Either hes afraid of going to hell, or hes afraid that, like he believed in his life, there is nothing more to come, and that this is the end for him. There is nothing else. Maybe this atheist now knows and senses that the spirit (or something) of god is in the room with him, and maybe this atheist either feels scared or threatened , and that is the point that he realises that his views are wrong. This song is haunting and powerful. Favourite song off the absolution album. |
