Could this song be about bipolar disorder?

It seems as though its looking at mania and depression, but I could be wrong. You know when something's close to home and you put your own meaning to it.

Im bipolar and this song is annoyingly catchy, my best friend sings it to me in an affectionate way and so I dont find it all that offensive. BFS may not have meant it in an offensive way if they are deeper or whatever, but people listening to this song who know nothing about the disorder wont give two hoots. For that reason I dont like the idea of it, in affect its taking the mick, and people wouldnt do that to someone who self harms, is schizophrenic or bulimic, this shouldnt really be any different.
But hey, I would listen to them as they are catchy, but theyre pretty whack, their lyrics arent really about anything theyre just there for teenagers (like myself) to listen to as its catchy.
Dont know where I was going with that, but thats my two cents. |

I was with my boyfriend and listened to this song a lot when we were breaking up, i was suffering from depression and to me (probably from personal views) its as though she brought this craziness and instability into his life and then brought herself to a sticky end (perhaps attempted suicide) in hospital. Now they dont talk at all but he cant stop thinking about her and the times they had. |

i likw this song, but having been in a few of those situations myself... i dunno i just think she couldve been cleverer with the lyrics.
What shes talking about is true and makes sense, but somehow it doesnt capture the true pain of it, its just like listing of someones problems, it wouldve been cleverer if it was metaphorical.
But anyway she relates to it as well so im sure it helps her as much as anyone else.
Btw cutting is not cool and not pleasant. For people that know nothing about it it is a serious addiction. Having been there myself i know that to talk about doing it to be 'trendy' is sick and Shirley Manson was not singing about it because she thinks its cool. |

this song is really poor, i understand how people can relate to it and all which is briliant if it works for them but musically and lyrically it is really bad. The way adams song(blink) portray teenage depression is much cleverer and no lies, just love (bright eyes) its yawny and whiny. |
