Iron Maiden – The Wicker Man Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm guessing he meant "the piper at the gates of dawn."

I'm sorry to have to say that I preferred Stevie's cover. :)

Stevie Ray Vaughan – Little Wing Lyrics 20 years ago
Stevie covered a lot of Hendrix's songs, but this is by far his best, IMO. I don't think it should even be considered a cover, because this version takes the song to a new level. I first heard the song about two weeks ago, and I've been hooked on SRV ever since. I haven't heard a version done by SRV with the words yet, though. Are you sure it's not only the instrumental version?

Ozzy Osbourne – I Just Want You Lyrics 20 years ago
I was thinking it was like "Anything is possible, but I don't want that anything, I want you." I'd assume it's a song about his wife, considering he was a rockstar who could've screwed around with any girl he wanted. Just my guess.

Iron Maiden – Wasted Years Lyrics 20 years ago
The fact that the song is called 'wasted years' alone leads me to think that hes reflecting on his life as a musician and wondering what hes really getting out of all of it.

If you think about a musicians career, once they leave home they generally don't have a home anymore. They go wherever the music takes them, which could be really depressing, I suppose. Think about knowing you don't really have any friends. Sure, you're famous, but who really knows who you are?

Anyway, heres my evaluation of the song.

I think the first verse is just basically saying hes been traveling so much, been to so many places, that he just doesn't know whats going on anymore, or who he himself has become.

The chorus is interesting. I think it kinda proves my point, but I'm sure others view it completely differently.

Hes thinking of his home, thinking of what he may be missing back there, and all that.

Then the chorus flows right off of that last verse kinda saying "If you spend too much time reflecting on what you could've been doing, you'll miss out on your own life."

The third verse could refer to anyone left behind. A lost love, mothers, fathers, friends, whatever. If it really is based on the perspective of ..that guys book, then it's possible hes thinking about the people he left in order to go to war in the first place.

..Thats what I think of the song. >_> Possibly overanalyzing.

Iron Maiden – The Wicker Man Lyrics 20 years ago
My personal interpretation of this song is a man who critisizes everyone else, and stands back and watches everything happen. I get that idea from the chorus, and then the verses give the idea that irony is going to bite him in the ass.

Thats just my idea, though. :/
