its an ok song.i can see why they left it off of the album. i downloaded it off LIMEWIRE. just put in "austin, we have a problem" on "from under the cork tree demos". the song is all about how in a year no one will care about them and that all the fans love an underdog--fans love to see kids new in the scene. meaning that they will be replaced sooner than later. right now, they are the underdog. |

ok. so im like the biggest F.O.B fan. i have talked to pete, met patrick and andy and been to see them a number of times. this song (one of the top 3 on the album) is all about Pete's battle with depression and pressure after the success of "Take This to your Grave". "Im not going home alone, cause i dont do too well on my own"--he is not going to quit and overdose "i keep telling myself, im not the desperate type..but you got me looking in thru blinds"--he keeps thinking he doesnt need the pills but he cant see any other way out. trust me, pete is a deep guy who definitly doesnt leave the true meaning of anything he writes on the surface. hope u can enjoy the song for what its worth now! ps- Brendan from "Panic! at the Disco" sings the second part of "i keep telling myself, i keep telling myself..." in the song. if u listen, u can totally tell its not patrick. xo, L |

the actual lyric to the first verse in the song is "heart held in my hand"...not "head". and this song is definitly one of the bands best. the drums over just vocals to begin the verses are amazing. the song is literally just about a relationship gone awry. nothing new, yet, they do it wonderfully in this song. |

i agree with red senate on these interpretations. completely. i think they hit it on the nail with the entire idea of "the pressures of being "big". if anyone is truley a Fall Out Boy fan, they KNOW that this new album is not about relationships with girls at all. Pete wrote this album based on the ideas of dealing with FAME. yet, they stay true to themselves and make every song sound like a boy/girl relationship. just look a bit deeper into all of their lyrics. There is a hidden meaning behind every one of the songs on this album. good job REDSENATE. now that all of u know, please throw more interpretations out! PS: this is the best song on the album. |

this song is all about the pressures of writing a hit single. "she says she no good with words, BUT IM worse"--he cant find the right words. "weighed down with words too, over dramatic"--all the words he can use that are over used. "dance, dance"--you all dance, all of the fans, and not worry about anyhthing. "were falling apart to half time"--while the band is trying so hard to make great songs before their time is up "dance, dance...and these are the lies you love to lead"--all the fans love the songs no matter what lies are told in them "dance, this is the way they'd (the fans) love, if they knew how misery loved me"--all the fans have no idea how hard it is to come up with these songs. "why dont you show me a little bit of spine youve been saving for his matress"--he is talking to himself. he wants a spine (guts, backbone, etc) to write hits. "i only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into be with me"--talking to the "hits". GREAT song. i dont think it should have been theyre second single, but still a good song. |

this song is all about "fame". it is about how they are trying to stay humble to the crazy lime life--"you are a getaway car, a rush of blood to my head. but me, im just the covers on top of your bed" it is fame who is saying "champange for me REAL freinds, and real pain for my SHAM freinds". "FAME" is also speaking through the distorted muffled sound of patricks voice in verse 2. great song. not a single or anything, but definitly one of the better ones on the album. |
