| Blind Guardian – Harvest Of Sorrow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is about Túrin Turambar son of Húrin in Tolkien's book "The Silmarillion". Túrin is one of literature's most tragic heroes. His life is a tale of unrelelenting sorrow, because of Morgoth's curse which follows him wherever he goes. | |
| Kate Bush – Hounds of Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The Futureheads are a good band, but I think that the original was the better here. (voice of moderation) | |
| Kate Bush – Running Up That Hill Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Chris that is certainly an imaginitive interpretation. I agree. | |
| Blind Guardian – Thorn Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think it is more likely about Túrin. "I'm lost in the depth of his eyes I can't flee" Is a dead giveaway regarding Glaurung. |
|
| Blind Guardian – When Sorrow Sang Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree with Trinidadian. The song is set on the western edge of Arda. Beren's spirit is about to leave the world to where men go when they die. But he is waiting for the judgement of Mandos who is listening to Luthien's song of sorrow. | |
| Blind Guardian – A Dark Passage Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yes, this is mainly about the capitvity of Húrin, and Morgoth also. Húrin is forced to watch the expanding power of Morgoth, and the sorrow that befalls his people because of this. The chorus is Morgoth singing. He smashed the light. |

| Rush – The Trees Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, Axe, And saw" I think that this is a metaphor for socialism. To my knowledge, Peart is politically liberal (libertarian for Americans). |

| Blind Guardian – Nightfall Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Other people have said what it's about. I live this song because it accurately reflects the end of an age. "The light she once brought in Is gone forevermore" and "farewell, he said" For the Noldor were leaving Valinor, so they believed, never to return until the end of the world, unless death sends them there ("for slain ye may be, and slain ye shall be"). It also well depicts the emotional pitch of the Noldor upon the tongue of Feanor, "full of hate, full of pride!" They lusted to make war upon Morgoth and they were letting nothing get in their way. As usual a great job by the band. |

| Manic Street Preachers – Little Baby Nothing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Definitely a classic song. | |
| Nightwish – Wishmaster Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yes, it seems to be mostly Dragonlance with some Tolkien thrown in at random points "Elbereth, Lorien, Grey Havens" |
|
| Nightwish – Passion and the Opera Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Like most Nightwish songs, it's about sex. | |
| Nightwish – Nymphomaniac Fantasia Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Like all Nightwish songs, this is about sweet lovin'. | |
| Blind Guardian – Into The Storm Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is about the panic of Melkor, trying to avoid giving the Silmarils to Ungoliant, "mistress of her own lust". With one hand he fed her jewels stolen from Formenos, but breaking his promise, he withheld the Silmarils from her. They burned his hand with pain unbearable, for the Silmarils will not suffer the hands of evil. | |
| Blind Guardian – The Dark Elf Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Quite simple. It's about the dark seed of evil that existed in Maeglin of Gondolin. He was the son of Eol the dark elf, who was not of Gondolin, but essentially kidnapped the sister of Turgon the king and made her mother to his son. That was Maeglin. | |
| Blind Guardian – The Curse Of Fëanor Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Ah, Rider of the Sun, I believe Hammerfall to be nothing more than the Blink 182 of power metal. Their music is hardly comaprable to the depth of Blind Guardian's music. I think Telperion gave a good interpretation of the song. |
|
| Blind Guardian – The Eldar Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think that this song is about Lúthien's love for Beren. She was an Elf, immortal, but he was a mortal Man. Her love unbreakble for him meant that she had to give up the eternal life of the Eldar, "High's the fee" and spend her remaining years living with Beren, "Soon my spirit will return" (as a mortal). From Beren and Lúthien the kings of Númenor and of Arnor and Gondor of the Third Age were descended. |
