| Metallica – Sad But True Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Yep. This song must be about James' alcohol addiction, written from the liquor's point of view. I remember on a "Black Album" documentary the song being played while showing clip of band members guzzling booze like it's water. "Hey I'm your life I'm the one who takes you there Hey I'm your life I'm the one who cares" -Once you're addicted, it consumes your agenda. "They They betray I'm your only true friend now They They'll betray I'm forever there -Alcoholism tears families, friends and workers apart. "I'm your dream, make you real I'm your eyes when you must steal I'm your pain when you can't feel Sad but true I'm your dream, mind astray I'm your eyes while you're away I'm your pain while you repay You know it's sad but true Sad but true" -When you're drunk, you can be visually impaired, numb from any emotional stress and just plain caught off from the life you are normally able to focus on when you're sober. The next day, you feel shit when you realize you did bad things, some which you can't remember or believe that you did. "You You're my mask You're my cover, my shelter You You're my mask You're the one who's blamed Do Do my work Do my dirty work, scapegoat Do Do my deeds For you're the one who's shamed" -Alcoholics aren't in control of their liquor. The liquor is in control of them. When they're sober, the often end up regretting their actions while taken to their drunken dimensions despite that they continue their habits. "Hate I'm your hate I'm your hate when you want love" -As mentioned, alcoholics can lose their families and their other beloved. "Pay Pay the price Pay, for nothing's fair" -This refers to such consequences that result from alcoholism (i.e. hangovers, depression) "Hey I'm your life I'm the one who took you here Hey I'm your life And I no longer care" -The open line is switched to past tense possibly to depict the alcoholic eventually dying. "I'm your truth, telling lies" -This could refer either to the alcoholic's frequent memory loss. "I'm your reasoned alibis" -The more drunk you are, the further you are away from yourself and the world around you. I'm inside open your eyes -The alcoholic is slowly realizing that his addiction is destroying his life. I'm you -No interpretation needed here. |

| Queensrÿche – The Lady Wore Black Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Ha Ha. Good one, antekman. It seems like some kind of dark love song or maybe it's about a one-night stand. | |
| Exodus – Piranha Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| If violence is a common theme in thrash metal, it's possible that this song is an extended metaphor for such. I've always seen the line "If you think you can live - you're a fool" as a reference to teenage boys joining gangs or wars, thinking that it would be cool and not a fucking thing could destroy them when they really end up getting wounded, killed or traumatized by the horrors of battle. Loki is a Viking god and the Vikings were notorious throughout the Middle Ages for terrorizing and pillaging. | |
| Judas Priest – Subterfuge Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about standing up to The Man! It's definitely a George Bush hater! | |
| Judas Priest – Machine Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The computer game, Carmageddon, comes to mind when I read these lyrics, some guy challenging other drivers to a deadly car race. | |
| Judas Priest – Close To You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me, this is the message in this song: Have you ever lost anyone you loved so much that you just could not accept it, get over it and move on with your life? The song basically depicts people giving this man such advice as to be strong and accept that fact that his loved one is gone forever, but the man basically implies through this song's lyrics that the people who try to help him don't understand how much his wife (if that's who it's dealing with) really meant to him. | |
| Sonata Arctica – San Sebastian Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Holiday romance and wasting your chances are what the song means to me. This happened to me on vacation. San Sebastian is a city in Spain. Surely millions of writers get inspired by their travels. If you see someone who you love and believe you can live your life with, you'd better go for her before someone else does for there may be no one else left on this planet for you! | |
| Metallica – The Unforgiven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
There's no need to tell me that this song is about your life. Everyone happens to be going through the same shit, myself included. "What I've felt, what I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never free Never me" That's me, man. It's like I've wasted so much time trying to satisfy my elders and mainstreamers rather than following MY heart. What if every human being could just create their own reality and do whatever the fuck they want. Freedom could be more free. |
|
| Children of Bodom – Needled 24/7 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's been said in many times in many ways. If you wanna rock, you gotta get fucking pissed at The Man! | |
| Black Sabbath – Lady Evil Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I remember listening repeatedly while on my vacation in Mexico and the lyrical theme kind of gave the idea that it could about the dangers of buying sex while in an underdeveloped country, but that's just me. | |
| Metal Church – Rest In Pieces (April 15 1912) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The given date refers to the date the Titanic sunk. That's what this song is about. | |
| Black Sabbath – Hand Of Doom Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| You'd both have to be right. I've heard some stories about this song being about drugs and some stories about it being about war. ozzyhead.com also says this. | |
| Metal Church – Badlands Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song must be about making some kind of big mistake that leads you closer to death. It not necessarily be about being stranded in the Sahara Desert or some deadly region. Drugs possibly? | |
| Sepultura – Against Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Dude. You're not the only one who has this problem but you shouldn't post messages bitching about lack of comments on your favourite tunes. I've selected lots of songs on this website that are loaded with comments with the first message being just like this one you've posted here. You never know when one day this song could gain another comment, after the one I'm posting now! | |

| Backstreet Boys – Get Down (You're the One for Me) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Fucking shitty song! Damn little bitches! | |
| Backstreet Boys – Everybody (Backstreet's Back) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Two qualities I give to this song: 1) just as annoying as a commercial that gets repeated 2) a gay, cheesy, teen idol, bullshit pop tune |
|
| Backstreet Boys – Quit Playin' Games (With My Heart) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This was one of the fucking lamest tunes for me growing up. BSB are posers and what not. | |
| Sepultura – Dead Embryonic Cells Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It seems that Max Cavalera has absolute no fear of explaining how skeptical he is of the state of world in a lot of "Arise" lyrics. Growing up in Brazil must not have been easy for him. I've been around the world and seen different lifestyles right before me. | |
| Sepultura – Attitude Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| A lot of the Roots tunes do not impressed as much as the older Sepultura albums, but I'm always open to ethnic influence and it's cool to hear some tribunal/aboriginal elements added. I definitely think it's all about Arise, Beneath The Remains and Schizophrenia though. | |
| Nick Lachey – This I Swear Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This tune is GAY GAY GAY... Damn! I could go on forever! Dream on, bitches! | |
| Metal Church – Watch The Children Pray Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is about a land that is stricken with poverty and hardship, with its people standing on the edge of salvation. Praying is surely what millions of sick and starving children in underdeveloped countries would be doing today and tonight. This is a fucking wicked tune! It's probably one of my favourite thrash metal ballads! | |
| Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Ahhh! The song that started one of the greatest performing arts of all time--METAL! Black Sabbath fueled all darkness and evil in hard music. People were frightened! Christians were blasphemed! Teens and young adults were hipnotized, starstruck and some even influenced and inspired to carry on this trend for years to come. Even if you're a metalhead or whatever who's not a fan of Sabbath and Ozzy, it's still good to know that many metal subgenres, like death and black, is rooted right to the core in the Sabbath style. That is how Ozzy got his nicknames like "Godfather Of Heavy Metal" and "Prince Of Fucking Darkness". | |
| Judas Priest – Jugulator Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think Ripper's an amazing vocalist. I mean he's got quite a well-rounded vocal style because he can sing and scream. Also, you've gotta feel sorry for the guy after the Priest and Iced Earth fanbases gave him so much bullshit because they miss Halford and Barlow so much. | |
| Christmas Songs – Let It Snow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The translation? Let us fuck! Let us fuck! Let us fuck! | |
| Carcass – Heartwork Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I always thought the line "A canvas to paint, to degenerate" was "I masturbate to degenerate". | |
| Soundgarden – Rusty Cage Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree with the abuse theories. Chris Cornell's parents were Irish Catholics and they split when he was a kid. His mom's maiden name is Cornell and Chris, as well as his siblings, changed his last name to this from Boyle. Maybe his dad was abusive and that's where he got the inspiration to write Rusty Cage. This is probably one of my favourite Soundgarden songs. Anything after Bad Motorfinger sucks. | |
| Judas Priest – Exciter Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Speed metal yes! But I'd say this tune definitely roots power metal. The riffs and rhythm exemplifies an early speed metal feel but Halford's high register vocals and the lyrical theme especially makes sound like a huge influence for power metal musicians, having made reference to "salvation". | |
| Fear Factory – Cyberwaste Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| A few haters of this songs have we here. Hmmmm. I really like this song. | |
| Bathory – Satan My Master Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The meaning? Ha! It's simply a prayer to the almighty Satan himself. I bet this song is probably sung and played at Satanic rituals and services around the world. I like Dimmu Borgir's rendition better, but Bathory still fucking slays. R.I.P. Quorthon! | |
| Children of Bodom – Hate Crew Deathroll Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is another of those anti-war/Bush bashing songs. Certain lines from the song explain that even the Hate Crew themselves detest war with lines like "Now, you're tellin' that you'll win the war that's only battled cuz you're too dumb to die. That's right! You can take your war and shove it up your ass, then close your eyes and say goodbye." | |
| Children of Bodom – Silent Night, Bodom Night Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Another song based on the Lake Bodom murders. The band just based the title of the tune on the xmas carol "Silent Night, Holy Night". Oh! Merry Fucking Christmas everyone! | |
| Children of Bodom – Bodom After Midnight Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Another song based on the Lake Bodom murders. The band just based the title on "Living After Midnight" the Judas Priest hit. | |
| Jessica Simpson – Sweetest Sin Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I hate this song and I quite frankly don't give good god damn that they broke up. And why the fuck are mainstream musicians needing reality TV to make a name for themselves? Pop music SUCKS! | |
| Backstreet Boys – As Long As You Love Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is a fucking gay tune. The Backstreet Bitches ain't good for nothing but riches and fame. They're just another fucking greedy-ass group (and you thought WE metalheads we're sinners). You mainstream young adult females probably think you can make your life complete just to be forever in the arms and care of Nick Carter. Get a fucking life! | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Satan My Master (Bathory cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| God dammit! Why the fuck can't you Christian mothers just leave us rockers the fuck alone? I'VE never scolded you bitches once for your beliefs. I'm not a Satanist or an evil person. Metalheads just write and listen to evil and sinister music because it's more interesting to us than all that other bullshit pop music about love and peace. It adds spark and excitement to our lives and it gives the arts variety just like action and horror films. | |
| Fear Factory – Back the Fuck Up (feat. B-Real) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I do not like rap in a lot of means, especially when it's fused with metal, my all-time treasured genre of music. However, I must admit that this is actually a fucking killer tune. I mean it does tend to contrast well from other rap metal music such as that from Stinkin Park and Crazy Town. This tune combines elements of industrial, extreme metal and hardcore hip hop which totally gives it a dark, evil and violent atmosphere. I am able to put up with VIOLENT rap music. I'm not a fan of rap or rap metal but this tune has enough exceptions to earn my tolerance and respect. Another thing I'd like to add is that this could be an anti-racist tune. Remember Aerosmith and Run-DMC collaborating for "Walk This Way"? Well, this is another one of those moments, breaking the barrier between black and white. There are bridges in this world that keep getting burnt but there are songs like this that manage to rebuild them. I guess the message in this song is for racist people to "back the fuck up" or just to open up their minds, accept different people and get into the real world but they are ones who are "exposed to all of the danger". It's almost as if they're insulting a racist right before them. I would like to send a big FUCK YOU to all the racists on this site myself as I discuss this issue. | |
| Judas Priest – Burn In Hell Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The first time I heard this song, I thought "Fuck, man! I never felt so evil in my life!" I was surprised I DIDN'T attempt any murders (fortunately!!!) This song is clearly about getting revenge by murder. | |
| Judas Priest – A Touch Of Evil Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I saw the video a long time ago, but can't remember its content too clearly. It seems to me the lyrics could be based on sex or drugs. Perhaps it could be about someones first experience trying an E tab or getting it on with a chick, "so afraid" but he "still feeds the flame". | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Kings of The Carnival Creation Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| deCarabas states the meaning pretty well. The song does seem to make some references to war. The title "Kings of The Carnival Creation" could refer to rulers and politicians who declare war, create genocide, rule with tyranny, etc, all the things that are merciless to innocent civilians. But you're on the track I'd say. | |
| Arch Enemy – We Will Rise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Good point, Metalhead. It could be about metal prevailing over other genres. I simply had a thought that the general thesis is more about plain uprising, but probably more in certain cultures and subcutures that yearn for their freedom. And the song is from the album "Anthems Of Rebellion" so why not just assume that IS one? | |
| Arch Enemy – Enemy Within Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Enemy Within is a kickass song, but I think we need to come up with a theme for the lyrics. I'm not even sure about my thought, but these lyrics to give me an idea of the effects of drug addiction, especially suicide. | |
