| Lily Allen – The Fear Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about how being famous and having loads of money is messing with her head abit. The video kinda goes with that idea as well, it's all surreal and overly nice and kinda werid. | |
| Goldfrapp – A&E Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Yeah I think the lyrics posted here are wrong, and the ones people have posted in their comments are more accurate. I think as others have said it's about a suicide attempt, or at least a feeling of despair akin to that. And that attempt has come because the person feels abandoned by the guy she loves, or feels really lonely and just needed someone to talk to and got nothing. She feels constantly let down by this person who is negelcting her all the time, and is depressed about it. That's what I think, brilliant song. |

| Catatonia – Mulder & Scully Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think it's about being in love with someone you don't want to be in love with, and you don't fully understand why you care about them. | |
| Massive Attack – Live With Me (feat. Terry Callier) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song. The lyrics make me think it's about a breakup/reminising actually, but teh video might've shaped my interpretation. | |
| Razorlight – Before I Fall To Pieces Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about him asking an ex why her new lover is better than him, and she isn't giving a straight answer, and that's making him hurt all the more. And he really wants her back too. | |
| Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| You can learn all about maths, science and english but at the end of the day it's only so you can get a job and keep the larger machine going. Sorry should've put this all in one post haha. | |
| Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| That's also where the bit 'we don't need no thought control' comes in, because at school you're brainwashed from the age of about 5 to be submissive and ordered around. The way teachers treat you set you up to be part of 'the wall', society, at a later date as in being ordered around by bosses and everything. I always assumed this song was about that, interesting to read other opinions. | |
| Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The wall - society. Going to school sets you up to be a member of society. You as a result of going to school - part of the wall. At the end of the day the only result of education is you just become part of the larger mass. |

This song reminds me of my parents. They had a similar kind of relationship right before they finally split up. I love this song. :D |

| The Shins – New Slang Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Love this song. I think it's about unrequited love. 'And if you'd 'a took to me like A gull takes to the wind. Well, i'd 'a jumped from my tree And i'd a danced like the king of the eyesores And the rest of our lives would 'a fared well. ' "if you took to me'' - if you liked me back. Then the rest of it going on about how happy he would've been. Then: 'I'm looking in on the good life i might be doomed never to find. Without a trust or flaming fields am i too dumb to refine? ' Thinking about how what it would've been like to be with her, and now doubting if he'll ever be happy. Can't be bothered to go over every line individually but that's what I think it's about. |

| The Prodigy – Charly (Alley Cat Remix) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I already knew that. I think the prodigy sampled those lines because in a rave and drugs context they can have the meaning I've suggested. They wouldn't have just sampled it for the sake of it, I think they saw that they could create a great piece of irony by using it in one of their songs. I think it's a genius sample, because coming from a government awearness ad it's a total piss take. | |
| Scatman John – Scatman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
''While you're still sleepin' the saints are still weepin' cause Things you call dead haven't yet had the chance to be born '' That's actually quite a good lyric, I'm shocked! |

| The Automatic – Monster Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it could be about having a bad trip from drugs, and the alcohol story is a cover up to make it more radio friendly. | |
| Massive Attack – Safe From Harm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| *doesn't rather than just, sorry | |
| Massive Attack – Safe From Harm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think bascially she's singing that she just care about the world around her as there's nothing she can do to change it. All she cares about is that her 'baby' is ok. | |
| Althea and Donna – Uptown Top Ranking Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. I wonder what they're doing now? | |
| Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Ok, this song was originally about drugs, right? Maybe by "i will keep myself'', he is refering to the new, worse person drug addiction has made him. An addict, a shell of a human being. And 'myself' is him before the drugs took over. I hope that makes sense. |

| The Smiths – This Charming Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I've always thought 'will nature make a man of me yet?' was refering to the guy wanting to know if he might wake up one day and be attracted to woman. Maybe he was confused, was going to get married, and the charming, gay man in the car told him to stop living a lie? |

| The Prodigy – Charly (Alley Cat Remix) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
'Go off somewhere' has always seemed to me to by refering to a trip. For example, taking acid and seeing the world in a different way. The user is going off to that acid altered other place. The 'tell your mother' bit always strikes up images in my head of kiddies raving the night away whilst mum and dad sit at home reading the paper and watching tv. |
