I CANNOT be the only one who is creeped out by the video. I just kind of leached into my soul and now I can't stop thinking about that little boy just trying to get his father to open up, and then that last bit where his dad turns to look at him for the first time, but he doesn't look back... It kills me! And, this is complete conjecture, but it also kinda made me think that it would be like Brian's nightmare. Cos he's just had a son, and it's like he's imagining what could happen if he got like that. He certainly seems to have a preoccupation with mental problems in this album, I mean it's called Meds for crissakes. Anyway, that doesnt fit with the song itself, and for that i'm liking rachmac's idea, although i previously thought it was a pretty open and shut case of saying goodbye to someone you used to love but who fell off the wagon. It's that moment when you realise you don't care anymore. you've wasted all your energy trying to save this person, but then you realise that there's nothing you could do, nothing you could ever have done, and you leave. Hey, been there. Absolutely 100% stupidly fabulous song, sounded great live |
