Dave Matthews Band – Drive In, Drive Out Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it is about lack of commitment and simply getting out of a relationship or a life situation as quick as you got in. "Drive in drive out" But also being indecisive...it's a guy who can't make up his mind...it's confusion-perfectly defined.

Broken down:
Verse One: "I hear more than I like to.....out of my brain." Someone who can't handle that truth and reality so he makes it into a joke. Then he's being pulled around by what others say, he just wants to find how he feels not what people tell him.

Chorus:
"Drive in....drive out"
Indecisive, leaving and coming back. Not making up mind.

"I don't care...the boy won't go."
He's refering to himself as the boy, saying immaturity and the attitude of a child won't go. Cynical ideas of not caring and wanting are derived from that part of him.

"Sooner or later...Sooner away."
Seize the moment. He realizes he must choose but can't.

"Ooh my head...drive out again"
He's hurting trying so hard to decide and no one seems to care, not even god is helping. He's going to be in the same place at the end.

"I'm over this arrangement..into my world"
Then he leaves it all behind whether it be his old life, his relationship, or past empitiness without god. Now he finally gives in with my favorite line "I want to drive you right into my world."

I do believe it may be a spiritual awakening. Either way it's about realizing something is bad and changing or leaving it behind.

Nirvana – Sappy Lyrics 20 years ago
Some people are saying it's about abuse and I think they are right. But i don't think it is about relationship abuse but rather to yourself. I'm not talking about the "drugs," but rather a person trying to be someone they are not and shouldn't be. Sure it's nice to do everything someone wants and it will make "him" happy, but it will never make yourself happy. It will feel like it, but it's not happiness.

I think when someone is put into a jar they will learn to adapt in order to bare it and when attempt to find happiness but it's not possible. It's like you want to believe in "your savior" but in the end you realize that that doesn't make you happy. Which means i think Kurt is saying that religion is a good idea but it doesn't help everyone. And the classic laundry room analogy is brilliant, it's the ultimate confused mind.
