| Bright Eyes – At the Bottom of Everything Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I HATE the intro to this song. Whether or not it ties into the lyrics, I can't stand the way he says it. Like he's trying to sound all disturbed and unsure. I don't care if he is or not, he can pretend he isn't to tell one freaking story for his album. Half of it is "ums" and repitition. I think some of the lyrics are okay though. A lot less bitchy and whiney than most of his stuff. I find the last line very nihilistic. It's kind of empty and hopeless, but I do like it. I really like what ChuckChillout has to say about it. He's probably right, but I don't really spend much time trying to figure out Conor's lyrics. This is probably the most complicated song he has, and the rest are just shallow and obvious. |

| Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I agree with ruchlax about the "I want a boy" part. Definately not from his point of view and most likely not just some random part of a character he created because his songs are very personal. I don't think Conor has any talent, and I definately don't think he's a genius. I think that all of his music and lyrics are terrible and shallow...but for some reason I kind of like them. It took me forever to admit it, though. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Gravity Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Being drunk. She recites the ABC's. Familiar with the floor. Trading in my talents by the mouthful. She's a drinker (as we all know) I definately think it's about being drunk. |

| Regina Spektor – Consequence of Sounds Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It obviously has to do with Regina and how she can't turn of the thoughts in her heads. But I really think that a lot of it is about how you can see skin and the outside, but she almost wants to turn herself inside out because then she would just have superficial things on the inside and all the complicated shit out for everyone else to deal with. It's like she knows and thinks things that she can never, ever explain. | |
| Regina Spektor – Prisoners Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"oh there's nothing wrong with them that a thousand books can't fix that a thousand arms can't hold down" I think that this is referring to how the prison views the criminals and how they think that they are "evil" or that they can change them and make them better, make them see what is wrong about the things they've done, but the problem goes much, much deeper than that. "and the ground they're tatooing the stones with cusses like cavemen" Maybe the "stones" are them, and that's what she feels she has become in prison. Hardened and cold, like a stone. Or maybe the stone is just simply to go along with the metaphor of the cavemen. |

| Regina Spektor – Back of a Truck Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| My favorite part is "this is New York." But I definately Love "that's myyyy back of a head!" I have no clue what this song is about, but I Love it. | |
| Regina Spektor – Flyin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I agree that it could be about getting high to forget what you feel, or it could have a meaning that no one can understand but her. I totally disagree about the end. That's my favorite part, you guys are crazy. I mean, that's Regina, and it's amazing. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Bad Habit Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I'm almost positive that this song is NOT about self-mutilation in any way. Amanda's tricky like that. Take "Slide" or "Sex Changes" for example. They don't quite mean what it seems. She likes to do whole songs in metaphors. I really think that this song is about how she feels when she writes. Opening up old scars and remembering things. Sometimes it hurts to write but that's what she does and how she gets it out so she NEEDS to do it no matter how bad it makes her feel. "Even if I quit there's not a chance in Hell I'd stop." | |
