Many of Blue Rodeo's songs seem to be about the same relationship--this one, 'Already Gone', 'Last to Know' for a few...he's accusing the woman (I'm assuming) of being callous, but the lyrics seem to imply that he's far from blameless himself. |

| Alison Krauss – I Can Let Go Now Lyrics

This may be my favourite Alison Krauss song--the second stanza is stunning. The emotion in her voice is incredible as she comes to realise what she's been doing--a 'breakup' song that manages to reach acceptance without bitterness. The lines 'It's not like me to hold somebody down/but I was tossed high by love..' are rather painfully accurate to feeling helpless in love, doing things you normally wouldn't, and she's realising here that she has to stop and let go. |

I like this song a lot--the music just makes me happy to listen to. The lyrics are interesting--she seems accepting of her situation right now, which might not be the best--'if it's all the same honey, I can't take the blame baby, I can't play your game honey'...she knows she has to give up and is moving on. |

| Sarah McLachlan – I Will Not Forget You Lyrics

This song certainly IS by Sarah McLachlan...on the 'Solace' album. It's lovely, and quite melodramatic, though I think that works in its favour. Less metaphorical than some of her other songs, the lyrics are poetic and straightforward--they remind me a bit of an old ballad or a Loreena McKennit style story-song. Probably because it's got several lines that set it in a particular time and place, so I get a clear visual image here. |
