What I don't understand is that if Mark was pissed with Tom for doing BCR without him, why isn't he pissed with Travis too? I think this song is about Tom, unfortunatly, but maybe he doesn't really mean it? You know, like when you fall out with your best friend and you're really pissed of with them, you do/say something in the heat o the moment? that's what I hope anyway, it's more likely that they'll get back together that way. |

Falling in the pit of fire being the feeling of being let down by a friend, never coming back self explantory again "How long would it take me to walk across the United States all alone." Doing things without his "friend" "I think I'm the only one still alive." He feels alone because his friends let him down, making him feel alone. "Is it just a coincidence to see you by yourself with no direction. Now it's time to move on." Seeing the "friend" again, not knowing what to do, he tells himself to move on, and not get involved again, because he'll get let down again. "Don't you know that things aren't getting better. Don't try and stop me." Thing's aren't getting better since he left, but he doesn't want his "friend to stop him, because that'l make things worse" "In a blanket of fear that I've been wrapped in for years. I think this song could be about a girl he wants but can't have "don't say you'll never when you might" makes me think that there's a girl he wants, but she says it'l never happen. "I wonder why I'm so caught off guard when we kiss I'd rather live my life in regret then do this" He's caught of guard 'cause he thought nothing would happen. He'd rather life his life in regret because he knows she doesn't mean it. "What happened to the love we both knew, we both chased?" They both used to be together or loved each other or something, but not anymore. "You need me, you'll burn me" She needs him at the time, but it burns (hurts) him because it means nothing to her. "Try to lie better next time" He knows she's lieing when they kiss. There's quite a few bits that don't fit with that, but it's possible... |

I think its about a guy who is leaving where he lives, to go somewhere where he can achieve more, where he'll be cared about. He feels that no-one cares about him, so he's leaving to achieve something, so he can come back and show them all that he wasn't a waste of space (with one hand held high you'll show your progress), but doubts anyone will care then either. Proabaly totaly wrong, I know, but that's what I get |
