Muse – Knights of Cydonia Lyrics

Is it just me or does the first minute or so sound like an outro from a musical or something then it gets all paranoid and the lyrics start. I LOVE it when the bohemian-rhapsodyesque vocals kick in. NO ONE'S GUNNA TAKE ME ALIVE. It's so commanding. I think this song is just summarising the main theme of this album (resistance). Its so mind blowing. Best song on the album. |

Muse – Soldier's Poem Lyrics

I think it's about a soldier who's realised that soon he is going to die (maybe he's already seriously injured?). He fears that he'll never see his home again. I think it's almost certainly about the Iraq war.
This is such a beautiful song. The vocals make the little hair on the back of my neck stand on end.... |

Rufus Wainwright – Peach Trees Lyrics

Oh my god. I can't believe no-one else has commented on this song apart from wingofasongbird! I love this song, it's so beautiful. I think the meaning is obvious. I think Rufus is easily the most talented singer/songwriter around today.

Radiohead – 2 + 2 = 5 (The Lukewarm) Lyrics

To me this song expresses confusion and dislike for the way his life is going. I think 2+2=5 is a way of describing. Everytime he wants to work something out it doesn't work out right. "I try to sing along but the words are all wrong" maybe about life. He tries do something good and positive but it doesn't work and backfires. I think this song is about releasing negative energy from all the stress and disappoints of life. Well that's what i think anyway ;-) |

Bloc Party – Blue Light Lyrics

i think this song is ambiguous ( that spellt right?!?) bcoz i think you can look at it in a positive way, and you're happy about the way somebody is you're bluest light, or a sad way, because if you love somebody and you'll never be with them, they're your bluest light, but they'll never feel the same. |

Bloc Party – Like Eating Glass Lyrics

best song by B.P EASILY. Very david bowie sounding. you can hear they're influence by him a lot. its about a relationship obviously, but b.p. describe it so very well. the chorus 'like drinkin poison , like eating glass...' is very descriptive and describes the feeling of when things are goin well and you might to do something you dont want to do. watch out franz ! the blocers are chasing your tails! |

Bloc Party – Plans Lyrics

'The ravens are leaving the tower' is an old english phrase. The whole phrase is 'The english empire will collapse when the ravens leave the tower of london'
So if you say 'The ravens are leaving the tower' about a situation or something happening it means its crumbling from within, its falling apart, becoming corrupt. i think thats what the whole song is about. somebody going mad becase they're not really sure what to do with their life. I reckon the guy keles talking is somebody who had potential as well 'such a nice guy' but were too indecisive...anyway thats my theory.
