imhoterror... Mrs butterworth is a brand of syrups and pancake mixes :P The bottle is 'grandma' shaped + Yeah, I hardly know anyone who'd even heard of tomas kalnoky or any of his bands... He's a brilliant artist and its surprising so few people listen to his music. |

Lazarus could've just been a nickname. I'm not sure whether this song relates to real events or the bible, but here are my opinions on the meaning: 11/05/94 6:30am - He wakes up feeling ill, but isn't sure why. (perhaps he senses that something bad must have happened) He goes back to sleep, but gets a phone call telling him that Lazarus has died. 11/08/94 6:30pm - Lazarus's funeral, he is 'dressed in the clothes he loved', with all his favourite things, and his friends are mourning for him. Presuming that Lazarus did commited suicide, this guy feels it was unjust and 'ungodly'. He's shocked by his friend's death, and wishes he had a chance to talk to Lazarus before he died. |

yeah it has a sort of western country feel to it, makes me think of a dark, empty desert in the middle of nowhere. "My conscience carries the weight of blood" Sounds like this guy did something bad in the past that he can't escape, killed someone, maybe? |

"It's cold in here, a lover lost burns in ghostfire" should be: "Only a lover lost burns in ghostfire" I agree with Demonomania, it's kinda about young lovers ("It is unknown to young lovers intoxicated by spring") who break up and are haunted by the fire in their hearts. Great song anyway. Has a strange, haunting feel to it. |
