i think this song is about trust and being paranoid.. "Tell me that you're alright Ya, everything is alright.." he needs to hear "everyhting will be ok" over and over "Give me a reason to end this discussion To break with tradition, to fall and divide" hes sarcastic ..hes saying "give me one good reason why we should end this discussion that we had so many times before and why break tradition" "'Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes, Talking with strangers, waiting in line I'm through with these pills that make me sit still Are you feeling fine? Yes, I feel just fine. " those are all his fears... the ocean has riptides and sharks and jelly fish that will sting you.. roller coasters and airplanes are a common fear...he takes hte medicine to not be afraid but he realizes he doenst need them.. thus feeling "just fine" "I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire! I used to rely on self-medication I guess I still do that from time to time But I'm getting better at fighting the future Someday you'll be fine Yes, I'll be just fine" basically self explaintory..hes paranoid about everthing...but hes realizing that he doenst have to fight the future cause it will be fine..
