I heard this song for the first time at university and it had a real effect on me. Shivers up the spine and all that. I didn't hear it again for about 10 years or so but found it. It had the same effect!
It is so melancholy, it's about being completely and utterly alone. |

This is a great send up of Middle-class bourgeois pretentions in the UK. The references are v British and probably lost on those from o'er parts. However, they are classic and perfectly describe those horribly perfect normal people we all know and loathe! |

the first posting is talking out his ar$e! He is referring to Justine Frischmann originally a guitarist for Suede who left in frustration and started elastica. Her parents are Hungarian and Scottish and she grew up in Twickenham. She has nothing to do with India nor the fashion industry. She is most famous for being Brett Anderson's gf leaving him for Damon Albarna nd then breaking Damon's haeart to return to Brett Anderson and smack. |

I must confess thatalthough I am a non-sentimental guy who hates sloshie songs this one really gets me. I think it's a very modern love song, i.e. flawed and imperfect relationship ends well. Hope Sandoval's voice is really sexy as well. |

Thank you Stockholm Syndrome for providing the real lyrics. What was the original poster thinking $$&?
The videos to this song are great. They did two versions. The most commonly-played is from the guy's point of view but there is a rarer one from the French girl. V Original and disturbing. |

The figures in the video are nazarenos based on participants in a Spanish religious festival held every year. They are NOT KKK contrary to the American-centric poster above.
This song is beautiful and still popular in the UK indie scene as one of the finest expressions of alienation. Curtis was a twisted genius. |
