Nine Inch Nails – Every Day Is Exactly the Same Lyrics 18 years ago
Ok what i'm about to say no-one has said b4.This is my interpretation (obviously :P).I interpret it in two ways.Firstly:

1.This song is about living a (probably Catholic) life [not bagging out im a practicing Catholic!]...Repeating the same routine - i.e. going to mass on days of obligation and the rest of it...he used to think he had a purpose - he thinks the Church dictates all he should do in his life - he has no choice. He also thought he had a voice but the church has taken over that. Then there's the imagery of eyes watching him - the clergy making sure your practicing ur faith well and hearing ur confessions."There is no love here and there is no pain" - he is so wrapped up in obeying the Church that he has forgotton why he is doing these things, he becomes numb.

Second interpretation:
2.It's about being in Hell.He thought he had a purpose and voice (i.e. in the world) but now he never makes a sound - he's obvioulsy living in fear.In Hell everyday is exactly the same - no love no pain (however this does come into conflict with the Churches teachings of the pain suffered in Hell). If you go along with this interpretation, and you read "An Exorcist Tells His Story" a demon, when possesing a human, said that Hell was like a cemetary, very lonely...however demons do lie and mix the truth with lies...

Iced Earth – Angels Holocaust Lyrics 18 years ago
This song shows that the individual is now in hell, he denied the life of christ. "scream repentence tho its far too late" shows how he repents now he is in hell but the will is fixed - its too late!It shows how he was tricked into falsehood by Satan.Read on little ideas what its like in hell in 'an exorcist tells his story' - has many similarities to these images in this song.Cheers!

Billy Idol – White Wedding Lyrics 18 years ago
I doubt there's incest.I agree with what Cjbryan said, "little sister" is an AKA. (probably something personal to old billy). Also maybe he's just being religious, where we are all brothers and sisters under God. Maybe she's "little" because she was immature or mislead in her relationship and got pregnant before getting married.

Hunters & Collectors – Holy Grail Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah indeed great Aussie song. The beginning of the song says "so high."I think this is ambigiuos showing that before he went to sleep he was high and thus had this dream about the holy grail and also it can show how people are high on their faith. The third paragraph - "have you heard about the great crusade" - shows how faith alone can overturn the universe and cause people to go on holy crusades without pay and the amry includes many nationalities of the world - "we raised four corners of the globe." "we were full of beans" is a metaphor for being full of hope and faith that their cause is just, but they we're actually full of beans because they were "dying like flies."The paragraph beginning with "you know i, i've been searching for an easy way" brings us back to the beginning of the song and the thought that he might be high on drugs and/or maybe high on faith. He wants to escape the "cold light of day" so he turns to drugs(or faith), because there's nowhere else to go. In the middle of the song it says "there'd be nothing left to plunder", and at the end it says "im still a fool for the holy grail."To me this shows that the persona wanted to find riches and that that was what crusades were all about, but instead they are for your faith and are full of death and disease.L8er.Cheers!

Marilyn Manson – Great Big White World Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, we all have our own contexts, and mine says something political and historical. I think useYOURbrain has a point when he/she says that we pray for a better world but don't get anywhere because we don't actually do anything - the 1st verse conveys this. "Nothing heals and nothing grows" in our world because it's based too much around money and not enough around morality, spirituality and family values. For example liberals believe many things can be cured by simply throwing money at people (giving them anti-depressents and simply more money for minority groups and 'socially disadvantaged groups ' like gays and blacks etc.).Really, people don't need money thrown at them, they simply need to have faith - spirituality.(don't put money before honour and God etc.). "It's a Great big white world" - Western ways are increasingly over the past few centuries dominated the world, especially now with globalisation.(and most westerners are white - so its a white world)."We are drained of our colours" because liberals believe in things like multiculturalism which is contrary to the natural laws of animals(and thus humans) (say trying to put cats amongst dogs and expect them to live in harmony)."We used to love ourselves,we used to love one another" to me shows that back in the day western society was more together in the sense of faith - Christianity - and culture. But now there are many things now that challenge that way of life (multicultralism) and cause nations to have huge internal differences and increased crime and hate crime rates."All my stiches itch, my perscriptions low" shows that now we are a very artificial society, we fear physical death because some believe this is it - there is no afterlife, no heaven. So we are obsessed with our physical 'God'to heal us (the doctor). The "Perscription" image shows that many of us need healing via drugs rather than spiritual healing and love. All mentioned vices is why our world is so ugly.L8er.Cheers!

Disturbed – Violence Fetish Lyrics 18 years ago
To me this song is political. Consider the 1st verse. We live (i'm guessing he's mainly talking about Americans - but i'm an aussie...still). The govt is telling you lies to stay keep you scared and stay in power. But you live in a democracy and have the power to change your govt. You are a timebomb waiting to go off - you are the people! And you need to release your power for the better."be part of the action."Do this"b4 its tool late"...you need to change life cause we live in a "violent society." (you know with your gun laws and imperial wars). So he concludes with the "drone" image...you r nuthin but a robot of the govt. - a pawn.Unless you take action this is all u r.If the lyics r indeed "jew" (but i doubt they r), then he is conveying the ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government) Where the real rulers of america are the Jews. They control the media and are key advisors in parliament and also have plenty of moeny for corrput purposes. Why else can you explain America supporting the Jewish Israili State?Ok if i think of more ill add it.Cheers!

Billy Idol – White Wedding Lyrics 18 years ago
To me it also shows how (even though this song is 80s, the stats wouldnt be too far off), that in 1997 there is a 43% likelihood that 1st marriages end in divorce in America. It shows how it's just another white wedding - a wedding that really means nothing because it'll just break up. It's white because these stats are predominate in white western society. Nothing is pure in this world. So if it goes wrong just start again - get remarried - that's the attitude of western society nowadays. I know people who admiitt their 1st marriage will prob not last long - how sinful! This is because religion is playing a lesser role nowadays and family values r faultering. That's why it's white, because eastern nations are more religious and r not white and have lasting marriages.

Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics 18 years ago
i'd like to add that i'm pretty sure its "when we discover it" not "when we destroy all of it." Ok,so the evolution part is saying that most teens are not religious and prefer the concept of evolution over creation. Because of this belief (mainly a left-wing one), and the fact that they hate the world and government they want a revolution (probably a marxist one). But they r "full of shit" because they most western so called revolutionaries are just fat arsed teens sitting watching t.v and listening to their rebel music but are too lazy and comfortable to actually get up and do something. Most teens criticise the government. "The more that u fear us the bigger we get" - the govt. loves ppl fearing them and stuff like terrorism. They manipulate this fear therefore they become bigger and more powerful than b4.And dont be surprised when they discover it. Therefore, teens are disposable (e.g how many ppl do you see wearing guervera merchandise? Capitalists are making money out of him because ppl are scared and want communism (how ironic it is). That's it for now might add l8er.Cheers.
