| PJ Harvey – Horses In My Dreams Lyrics

I think the simplicity of this song fools people too easily. In Uh Huh Her there is a picture of Polly riding a horse in the CD booklet and it really resonates the wonderful feeling of this song. I think this song serves as a reminder that there is always something beautiful to pull you away from your problems. It also celebrates the charm of riding a horse. |

This song is very beautiful to me and is severely unappreciated. The words ethereal, tender, haunting and universal come to mind whenever I listen to this - so I guess to me the song emcompasses those themes. |

I love this song. It is just so beautiful and enriching. Just hearing the introduction makes me smile. I love the positivity and declaring her love for the people close to her. It's a song that appreciates happiness, love and life. |

Only...one...comment?? Wow!
Ok, this song is utterly amazing and mind blowing. The opening bar grabs and shakes me every time without fail. The ambient yet pulsating beat, Kate's mad voice, the laughing birdsong...it's so impressive and powerful. One of the best album closers I have ever heard. I can't believe I am the second person to comment on this. |

Why yes, it is. This is such a beautiful song...very atmospheric and delicate. The image of Joan of Arc blowing a kiss to God is very moving. Kate's choice of name for the song is quite something since it personifies Joan as a real person rather than this figurehead in history. Such a lovely song! |

This is song is so beautiful...the repeated line that closes the album is sung so wonderful, mournfully... it almost glows. It's very stirring and patriotic in a quiet, poeting way (the type I like). |

"So lead me to the harbour, and float me on the waves, sink me in the ocean, to sleep in a sailor's grave" - such a beautiful lyric. The imagery in this song combined with Sinead's soft voice is just gorgeous. Anyway, I think this song is about belief and finding solace in nature, especially the ocean. The title is very appropriate. |

| Suzanne Vega – Solitude Standing Lyrics

The idea of solitude being in the form of a woman is very interesting to me. Vega's imagery is so strong that you listen to this song in pictures - if you know what I mean. "Her palm is split, with a flower, with a flame" is a line that struck a chord with me when I was younger. |

Awesome song, fits perfectly with the film Morvern Callar - isn't the second line "I've cried for no one?" |

I remember hearing this song when I was 9 and loving it. Six years later I saw the film 'Show me Love' and the same song played during the credits - I still love it! Excellent Euro-pop |

I think it's such a romantic concept (romantic in the original poetic sense). For someone to just leave up and go without a word...of course it will do some damage to the ones you leave behind, but I still respect the idea of it. |

I always think of films like Lilya 4-ever whenever I listen to this song...I think of the poor children who have been abused and have died over the years and it's like they are part of the choir, singing from a place of freedom and safety. The way the song swells and swells before closing with the simple loop is just so incredibly beautiful. |

| Moby – I'm Not Worried At All Lyrics

Every time I hear this song it reminds me of the struggle of African Americans in the developing stages of America. The battle between slavery and human rights. It's really quite emotional for me and I just imagine this man singing about facing authority and feeling proud of who he is and, like the title says, not worrying at all. It will always stay with me. |

| Kate Bush – Rocket's Tail Lyrics

When I first listened to this song I was literally blown away by it's wildness. Just over a minute and 20 seconds into the track the song explodes into a musical frenzy - an explosion that would launch a rocket itself. After reading Kate's lyrics I feel that it's an exploration of the unknown by throwing yourself into something you disagree with/don't understand and then finding joy and energy from it. It's such a powerful song, quite unlike anything I've heared before. |
