I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, and I'd hate to repeat, but about the "scarlet lettermen." Hawthorne wrote the novel "The Scarlet Letter." It's about being punished for a sin that the character committed. (Scarlet letter "A" for adultery). Throughout the story, the charated (Hester) is shunned from the rest of the Puritanical village, possibly saying that holding a grudge will shun you from people you are destined to meet and whatnot. I adore this song though. Lateralus has to be my favorite album of all. |
