i hate to bring this up, because tai is easily my favorite band. but this song reminds me disgustingly of fall out boy. i have nothing against fob, either. and this is my second fave song on the cd. but the whole line about "checkmarks on bedposts" makes me think FOBFOBFOB every time. and i know there's another song that makes me think the same thing. or another line. i forget. but i think their tour with them had HUGE influence. |

there is one line in this song: "if you're not getting answers, ask better questions" that makes me shiver every time i hear it. the first time i heard it, i was listening in a car full of people, gasped, had to stop and rewind the song so i could hear it again. that line is the whole reason i listen to this song. |

I'm not sure this is a breakup song. I think it might be, but I think it more portrays a guy's addiction with a girl. "With 8 seconds left in overtime, she's on your mind." I think that means that he's in love with this girl so much, that even with 8 seconds left in overtime that determines the outcome of the game, he's still thinking of her. It always makes me think of a guy shooting a free throw shot with 8 seconds left on the clock, his heart pounding, and all he can think of is this girl. Maybe I'm totally confused. But either way, this song is amazing. |

I agree with Andy- I do think the song is about his relationship with Jesus. I think it kind of ties in with the first song, The Truth, about doubting one's faith. This one is about apologizing to God for being such a sinful person, and for pushing Him away. "I was so afraid cause you were so much better than me." I think that line's about pushing God away out of... fear? Inability to grasp the concept? I'm not sure, exactly, but I absolutely ADORE this song. I think it's one of the best on the album, by far the best original one. |

This song is the first on the new record that came out yesterday, Apathetic EP. It's a phenomenal song, my favorite on the whole thing, personally, even above the others from Mmhmm that are now acoustic. I think these lyrics are slightly wrong- the words aren't "a world full of sinners" but "a world full of cynics" instead. I'm pretty sure the song is about putting your faith in God, and how it's sometimes hard to believe in Him when you don't have any hardcore proof. I feel this way and am so relieved Relient K released a song about it. "I'll put the emphasis on the evidence"- I love the way Matt sings this part. Believing in the little things that prove His existence- the small miracles- and the large ones, too- just to contradict your doubt because you know it's the right thing to believe. And yet, you feel as if you HAVE to believe for fear of going to Hell, but you WANT to believe as well, because you love God. Okay, so I think I'll shut up now. I talk too much. But this is DEFINITELY my new favorite song. |
