Mudvayne guy, u got it right on. We're all allowed to enjoy this album, just as others are allowed to dislike it. Trexor, you remind me of my ex-boyfriend. He loved giving short, snappy answers to people to make himself look intellectually superior. The whole, 'I know something you don't' thing. You may have your own ideas and opinions which to you are correct, but your head appears to be so far up your own ass that you're not expressing them in a way that people can actually give a shit. That's unfair to others, who are actually here to discuss things and listen to different interpretations maturely. |

The term 'kangaroo court' is apparently an unauthorised or inproper court in which justice is perverted. This makes sense because it fits with the critique of using 'the guilty to hang the innocent', and with the corruption of 'lawyers', who are often 'liars'. |

I agree fully with the account by nonetospeakof. The references appear to be accurate. Hypocisy is disguised by those with power, who 'point the finger' at the apparent wrongdoers. This new album is just what i needed from the music world. For a long time I've felt cheated by it. Since I heard Lateralus i've been waiting for more! Trexor, no mean to offend, but i reckon you should calm down. He may have sounded pretentious to you, but he was only trying to explain the song to you so you didn't continue to insult a band he obviously adores and respects. Enjoy the album guys |

I thought it was a little bit crappy that nobody had commented on this song! I think it absolutely rocks, singing to it and goin mad to it is so much fun! It's really powerful, his voice is perfect for it. It's such a laugh aswell. "Boys and ghouls having a ball" it's all genius! |

I agree that this song, despite being romantic and sexy in one sense, does make my skin crawl also! it's very eery!
I love the images that come in my head from reading the lyrics, "Kiss me with your cherry lipstick" etc, they're just fantastic lyrics!
It reminded me initially of just getting completely lost within someone else. They are driving off into a dark and unclear night, a fate which is uncertain and unsafe, but they don't care where they end up, they just have to be with each other and touching each other.
It sorta reminds me of "Passenger" by deftones and Maynard J K, and "Be Quiet and Drive" too. |

I couldn't agree more about the drums, they really give the song an amazing feel :D though, this whole song is amazing.
I agree that it is about the total disintegration of a relationship that was once exciting and full of love. He is saying he would rather not be with the person anymore, even if that means regretting it forever. So emotional!

I am so impressed with Makoe's theoy. Tool seem to be all about the ability for the human beings to think for themselves, (a similar feeling we recieve from some interpretations from 46 and 2) and the fact that the sinister, nazi sounding speech is in fact simply a harmless recipe, well it makes you realize how easily we judge things doesn't it? |

The thing with Tool is, even though so many interpretations match, the meanings of the songs can be narrowed down to something really simple which works with all interpretations. This song can be applied to any type of pressure, felt by religion, drugs, mental control, or the most common idea, the abusive relationship. In this idea, the abuser is the thing pressurising you that you cannot escape, and in the end, is the thing you are forced to face and defeat. |

Like all Tool songs, the ways you can interpret this are endless. Tool make music as a "tool" for people to use for themselves to help them get through things and to enjoy, making their songs interpretable for anyone, so they can relate to them in their own way.
This song reminds me of someone being abused and pushed around so much that despite not wanting to, the person has to stand up for themselves. Complete desperation comes through in Maynard's singing. Awesome song. |
