Marilyn Manson – Spade Lyrics 20 years ago
Well I don't know why people state MM as the king of suicide. What I got out of his songs were mostly huge critics to society, system and the rich.
However I like the view of NijWij of the song.
I think before someone really wants to say something about MM's songs he ought to do some research (as with SOADs' songs).
Did anyone learn here in school how to interprete peoms?
Sometimes it doesn't seems to me like it. About "respecting others opinions". I can state an opinion as real crap if the person can't really proove to me his point by the text itself. One should really learn from NijWij who is one of the rare kind to really show and proove his point by the peom/song itself.

So long ;)

Dream Theater – Misunderstood Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree with the spiritual part.
As u can see Scenes from a memory, Six degrees, train of thoughts and Octavairuim have one streamlined theme. All talking about spirituality from different views.
How do get to the point that they are connected?
Six degrees cd 1 starts like scenes of a memeory ends, train of thoughts begins like cd 2 of the six degress and the first piano tone fits exatly the missing last tone in the last song of the train of thoughts.
I have always loved dream theaters' love for detail in everyway.
First Scenes From A Memory introduces us to the "soul" spiritual part, kind of a dream thought "Wake up nicholas" at the end of the album tells me somehow that it it is a thought of dreams that the spirit goes on.
HOwever the next album Six Degrees of inner turbulence talks more about the psychological side of "spirits". Ethic and moral. Whereas train of thoughts deal with how people handle sprituality, "abuse" it or suffer from it.
What octavarium acutally is about....hell i haven't figured that out yet.

System of a Down – Lost In Hollywood Lyrics 20 years ago
A short while ago I had an idea about the lines
(The lines in the letter said
"We have gone to Hackensack").
I was watching TV and there was this advertisement for the movie "Bride of Chucky". This might sound strange now:
There is this cool scene where Chucky and his bide are talking about some medallion that has the power to tranfer their souls from the doll bodies into human bodies. However this exact medallion is buried with the corpse of serial killer Charles Lee Ray who is chucky.
And where is this body buried?
In Hackensack NJ!!
Yepp this astonished me too. So now we can transfer this knowledge on to the song maybe meaning that the people in hollywood are as shallow as dolls but are desperate to be real humans:

Look at all of them beg to stay
Phony people come to pray

I might be of course wrong, but a nice coincedence.
