This song is about death. Freddie is saying that death (the hammer) falls on everyone, "Rich or poor or famous", also, he says that there is nothing that we can do to prevent death, as hard as some people try. "Lock your door but rain is pouring through your windowpane" and "Build your muscles as your body decays" are two examples of this. THIS SONG ROCKS!!!!!!!! Definently my favorite Queen song ever!
