"Dear John and all the king's men can't put your head together again" means that Christ has been so distorted by pro bias and stupid ass holes in this fucked up society. "Dear God, if you were alive, you know we'd kill you" means that if God were a person, we'd likely destroy him with our violence...we already did in the the form of Christ.
