This song has my favourite lyrics of all time: "a scene set to singe innocence, upheave, unhinge and pit against, like every made-for-tv movie should" - Genious! I love every bit of it, the kind of lazy verses with a more in your face chorus. Also the time change at the end where he's like yelling in tune..oh its just too good! Its definately a wars theme. And also a little correction, its "we build your young" not hill? |

I love the way this builds and it manages to sound so menacing. Its, like moshme84 said, beyond amazing. I also love the fade into nothing at the end. so creepy. but so dam good! |

It is a love song- a love-hate relationship. The way its structured is so clever too. It reminds me so much of a couple i know! When he's not with the person he loves, he kind of loves her in an angry way, "i love all the dirty tricks" or "i cut your name in my heart" Thats the kind of angry feeling when u know you shouldnt still be with them, but u cant help it. But when it gets to the chorus, the tone changes and goes all pretty and high pitched. Its like he looks at the person and feels all happy again "space dementia in your eyes, and peace will arise" Its the cycle of love hate starting all over again. Dammit ther so clever! i love the bit after the first chorus leading into the second verse...it gives me chills its so powerful, my favourite bit of the whole album. this is my favourite song on the album too its ace. |

| Muse – Screenager Lyrics

I think the title "screenager" refers to the way in which so many teenagers are fake, its just a facade, ie they put up a screen. It blocks them out from the real world, and they live a fake life. "so phoney and always surrounded" is a cracking lyric. The false people are often the people with the biggest group of friends.
The hide from the mirro bit is about hiding from your true self, meaning even theclosest people to you, family dont even know you any more. He's saying that children are so innocent and dont hide behind a "screen", they are their true selves. |

Wow thats interesting, ive never thought of it about rape before, but it so makes sense; especially since the first time he says "please stop asking me to describe" its actually "describe HIM" I read that on another lyrics page. I think the chorus is so powerful, matts vocals are inredible! For me the chorus is about speaking without worrying about it. It must be so hard to talk about an ordeal like that, so he wished she could "hold her stage with no feelings at all" like not have to worry about thinking and speaking. That would make you open minded, as well. "Im sure i used to be so free is just about how easy life was before. |

I think Jesse is really taking the piss here, when he says "I'm heaven sent" he's like, putting himself into the cocky bastards shoes, whoever that is. I think its like that in some parts, but he might be talking as himself in the bridge bit: "this is the price you pay for loss of control..." Its kinda complicated like that but its so deep, gives me a hell of a lot to think about. Its good too cos its the kinda song you can relate to anything you want. Makes me think he's the voice of a drug too: "i am the cause to all your problems" etc. COoooool |
