I have always thought that it was about losing your youth dreams...they didn't have to worry about anything, they ware just in love, and after she got pregnant they HAD to marry and he had to work etc. the things they used to do can't be done anymore, and even though they both miss it ( I act like I don't remember, and mary acts like she don't care) they hide it, but once in a while he drives back to the river, just to remeber how things used to be...just about the song I love the bridge part, and I remember my english teacher singing it to me, out of his window on the second floor, he loves that songs and discussed it in class...what a moment :p my favourite song... |

damn when I heard it for the first time I loved it, a friend of mine started to mail all bands he liked and this was one of them, he has a great taste of music I must say, and somehow what they sing about is something I've been wondering about the last few months...strange to meet the feeling again... |

I have always thought it was the kind of song that made fun of people worrying, well I don't know about you guys, but my mom always expects to find a killer or something in the bushes, and is therefor afraid to let me go out all by my self...maybu something else may have influenced my point of view..by the time I heard the song children found dead were all over the news, some pedofil who had murdered at least 4 young kids, kinda my age and we all got messages of ignoring older kids we didn't know or jus people we didn't know, I thought it had something to do with a case like that |

well, it's difficult to say, because I don't always know what some expressions mean in English, or how to translate it, but if black friday means that the businesses make profit, it may mean in this song, that the one he sings about finally feels better after a long while of sadness. because when he would still feel sad I don't think he would say : for I am the king, and sure long may I reign... |
