After coming to a musical climax with Promised Land we see this exceptional 80's metal band try to reinvent themselves into utter crap. This is one of the bareable songs on the album with sp00l being the clumsy best.
This is so literal and obvious lyrically and musically that makes it just as painful as the fact the band is right. |

Poor Everclear. This song alone wraps up album after album of what Mr. Alexis has devoted his life to, even if it IS just Green Day. |

Anyone consider the LITERAL meaning of the song considering current New Orleans situation, that someone might just have been worrying about such a thing happening when it was first written? It's been a real threat for a long, long time. |

Becoming so very frustrated with someone's (or a group's) apathetic point of view or lifestyle that you just can't stand it anymore... |

Just because there isn't a specific meaning to a song that the author deliberately inserted doesn't mean that people can't get their own meanings to it. This song just SCREAMS irritable teenage angst, the cliche`s that come with it and the unsureness of that time. |

FNM leaves alot for you to interpret yourself. But I love the humble, sheepish sound of the song. Perfect fit for the lyrics and the whole of the album. |

Seems like a mildly troubled relationship where one might want someone in spite of things pulling them apart at times. When FNM isn't clear, they're very symbolic. Things are very rarely literal in songs like this. I'll expand on this if it doesn't click with you after hearing this POV. |

The lad has it right. Too many people look for solid topics for songs when many of them don't have a specific target or point. This is about whatever makes you feel this way, whether it's drugs, a spiritual awakening, an orgasm, or whatever the hell makes you utterly ecstatic. Alot of it is symbolic and over the top for things, but it works.
As for feeling negative, no way. It's a very ecstatic song. |
