beautiful and straightforward. a love song with just enough saccharine and sap with an original sound. makes the 500 days of summer trailer look and sound dreamy and just beautiful.

| Passion Pit – Sleepyhead Lyrics

I prefer the original sleepyhead but either way this is the greatest song I've heard in a very long time.
I think it might be "burning solid" instead of burning silent and "saltwater into my eyes" instead of someone. The latter makes more sense. And it sounds like "you were lying an inch from the edge of this bed" then i think it's "I grab your neck a sleepyhead?" For whatever reason, it just sounds like that to me. and the second verse is just blehh I don't know. It's all very..slurred. But still good. |

I don't think this is literally about a prostitute. I think these lyrics describe a feeling that can apply to anyone, not specifically to prostitutes. she seems to be renouncing her love for someone or just getting a spine and telling someone that he can't treat her like shit anymore. that's my take. |

yeah I agree that this song does not make any sense but its energy is just contagious. its one of my fave songs right now, and quite possibly of all time. btw, who is the female singer in this song? thanks. |

| Stars – Elevator Love Letter Lyrics

I dont think the guy is in love with her...he just wants to get in her pants by telling her lies about love and plans on slipping out before she wakes up the next sunday morning. because she doesn't know how to love as she works all the time and thinks she's found it with him, she begs him to stay.
it's about two sexually frustrated people, but one's looking for love and the other's looking for just another one night stand.
but anyway, it's still a really really good song and I'm listening to it on repeat. |

I dont think the lyrics or general meaning are that significant in this song. but it is about death and how it feels like to confront death in the form of two dogs. but anyway, I like this song a lot. |

I'm sorry but Whill and SALTYSMYNAME's comments almost ruin this song for me. I hate to admit it but they're right: I thought it was about love in its most general meaning but now i think of it as..not so; that these people in modern relationships arent actually in love, they're just killing time with each other.
its still a lovely song and one of my favorites right now though. but did anyone see last season's finale of how I met your mother? this was playing in the background and it was when one of the main characters broke off his engagement to his long-long-term girlfriend and it was just so incredibly sad...yup. |

pretty pretty.
I think the meaning seems intrinsically or naturally obvious. I interpret it as an ended relationship and his wanting to return back to the "bed and shoreline" days, which is why he'd "dog-ear" this memory, so he could come back to it over and over again...I dont really know but at least thats how I see it. |

| Metric – Live It Out Lyrics

the acoustic version of this song is amazing....its addictive. you can find it on youtube when metric did rolling stones original series all acoustic, plus an elliot smith cover I think it was. I thought it was "your body is dead, you're wood instead..." IDK. I thought it made sense that way. what does it mean to be a word?
and yes, I agree its about taking adventures and even if you fail, at least you know that you took a chance for once in your life. lovely ending to a great cd. |

absolutely lovely.
I think it's about her resisting love but falling in love anyway. and the second verse is about her wishing that she hadn't fallen in love and had not let him in because obviously her heart is broken.
but maybe the song has nothing to do with music. the music and words she hears symbolize the happiness she felt when she was in love. and it breaks her heart because she wishes she could hear those things and feel the same way again. |
