It's about a friend of theirs who was a bit of an outsider. Like soc said, St Rollox has a Tesco and this guy must have stolen from it every now and then.
Anyway, I absolutely love this song, it's definately one of the best I've ever heard. |

well he does look slightly camp and some of the lyrics suggest he's gay (especially in Michael). But he isn't! Not long until the album comes out now!! |

The band where at a party one night, held in an art museum- called the 'Transmission House'. And the lyrics in the song such as "Your famous friend, well I blew him before you" are things Alex Kapranos was told by drunk people at the party and also what people were saying to others.
So there are actually no gay references in this song, just things that were said at a party. |
