The thing is, in a lot of cases the lyrics in the book don't necessarily match what sung in the recorded song. I've listen to this song many times and have even tried to hear "signature" as in the book, but i always hear "Sinatra". Just check out other songs on that album and I am sure you'll find that the same thing happens in other songs. Anyways, I feel like this song is kind of explaining why he moved from California. Apparently in a documentary you get to watch as bonus material for the album, Anthony used to lie in California for sometime. So I think he has great memories here (I'm from California), but it's just not what it used to be or he might have been getting tired of it. If infearandfaith is correct about Anthony's band references, I am going to assume that he wasn't too satisfied with the west coast music scene because in my opinion I think the east coast music scene is a lot more reputable. ...Then again, I think Anthony might have said in the video what the song is about, but I just forgot. I'll watch it again... |

| I have to agree with many of the people who have already posted. This is a very depressing song... and a very powerful one as well. What really hits me are the repeated lines "so whos gonna watch you die?" as a response to the line that i have to say is really true "love is watching someone die...". If you truly love a person...you will be there right by their death bed as the live the last moments of their lives no matter how hard it is on you...the one person you love is dying... I also find it really interesting how the last note resembles the solid tone on a heart monitor once someone dies. By the way, if you turn up the volume after the song, do you hear the weird/erie noises in the background? Keep it up DCFC, you keep on amazing me... | |
