Hmm. Well. Living in Indiana, and talking to a girl just like Mary Jane described in the song. I have something to go with. I have a friend, she's a show-off to all the weird things she claims she does. She usually hangs with all guys, and wus, as of 2 years ago, a whore. Now she is trying to be on the right track. Howevur she flirts with every guy she sees. Calling herself a 'tease'. Perhaps petty, sinse he did write it, is talking about that one girl in your town that you always thought was a whore, but was a good person inside, or claimed to be. 'she grew up in an indiana town' of course reffering to his, and her, hometown. "but she grew up tall, and she grew up right, with them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights."--maybe talking about when your sittin' in a pot circle, and the only girl there who doesn't have a boyfriend, but is like a good friend to u, who hangs with all the guys all night long, and her parents pick her up late. "she said I dig you baby but i got to keep movin'. on, keep movin' on." Saying at one time they had their special moment, but she wanted bigger things and differnt expectations. "last dance with mary jane one more time to steal the pain" saying he smoked weed to release his mind of her. "i feel summer creepin' in and i'm tired of this town again" saying she left during the summer and all he can do is remember the memories. "oh my my, oh hell yes, got to put on that party dress" partying hard to get her out of his head. just some 'maybes' ^.^ |
