i swear to fucking god- i read an interview with Jimmy and he said that for his birthday one time his friends took him to a strip club and bought him a lapdance- he didn't know what to say to the girl so he was like "hey how are you?2 anyway turns out the girl was russian and she starts crying and saying that she hasn't seen her family for a year and she really misses them, jimmy was like 'what the fuck???' needless to say it ruined the mood- he said thats what the chorus was about.

thank you sound garden!! i was getting pissed off with the gerard obsessives too... the song IS about cocaine breakfast- and if any of you had ACTUALLY been to an MCR gig and listened instead of staring at Gerards 'pretty' face you would have heard him dedicate the song to 'a stupid fat slag' his ex girlfriend who told him to chose between the drugs or her... he chose drugs and told her to fuck off. so she tried to get to him through his friends and through mikey, the song is about telling her he doesn't give a shit about her and he'll do coke whether she wants him to or not.

a slight correction to your veiws on the song; it's about gerards battle with depression. People suffering from depression are often given uppers and downers, the drugs often counteract each other; i.e making him fly and helping him fall. his irratic mood made him suicidal; thinking he would blow his brains against the ceiling. it was written as a positive message to people who are feeling down; just thing happy thoughts... and no, its not ironic.

for all the MCR 'fans' who cant get past Gerards pretty little face- this song is about staying in a bad relationship when you know you shouldn't. like taking drowning lessons; who needs to learn how to drown? its pointless. the song means the relationship is pointless and he knows it but he still plays along with the girls fantasy-the wedding. they wash down the engagement ring with poison and kerosene; i.e to stay together would kill them so there laughing at their own deaths by carrying on with the relationship. its all part of a story- check out the other songs and i'll explain- it all ties in with the thousand bodies piled up.
