Muse – Exogenesis: Symphony Part 2 (Cross-Pollination) Lyrics 16 years ago
Hmm... I'm guessing that the 'leader' of the Resistance leaves Earth, one of the last few surviving humans, leaving everyone else to perish on Earth as it's comsumed by the apparent nuclear holocaust? He, or She, has to go on and repopulate another planet to "save us all" i.e. the Human race.

However you interpret it, the whole Symphony is epic.

Muse – Guiding Light Lyrics 16 years ago
Another great song off the album. Sounds Glasvegas-ish in parts, especially the first two verses (well, the tune/riff).

Pretty self explanatory lyrics too. This song sums up the dejected feeling and loss of hope so well.

Best song on the album for me, and as it's been said it's clearly been influenced by 1984.

Brand New – Bed Lyrics 16 years ago
Sounds to me like this could be a song that relates to domestic violence, what with all the talk of fighting, lying to friends (to cover up the injuries sustained), knowing how 'she' will die (at the guy's hands).

That's how the song speaks to me anyway.

It's quite obviously about some sort of death and funeral, people.

My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's about The Patient going to war himself. He talks to mother War about every soldier he served with, and him, going to Hell for killing people, maybe innocents and civilians in friendly fire i.e. "The shit that I've done with this fuck of a gun"

Mother War tries to tell him that it isn't his fault for what has happened, but The Patien remains unconvinced and dreads facing where eh will end up. Mother War weeps for him, and hopes that somehow he sees that his life was worth living, even the worst times

My Chemical Romance – Sleep Lyrics 19 years ago
sparkly-pink-fairy: It's like a tape recording of someone saying something like:

"There's these terrorists, and it feels like someone is gripping my throat..." Repeated about four/five times

The song could relate to The Patient trying to rid his mind of all the bad things he's been talking about over the last seven songs, and that he just wants everyone to forget about him and sleep

It does also relate to Gerard's night terrors

My Chemical Romance – Famous Last Words Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about The Patient, like nhinman said, declaring that his past is behind him and he isn't afraid of leaving everyone for the afterlife

I think that last parts of the song is someone close to him seeing The Patient in ghost form for the last time... like possibly his wife/girlfriend waking up and seeing him, and having to say goodbye for the last time, just so The Patient can be free to leave for Heaven

My Chemical Romance – Teenagers Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about teenage gun crime. Gerard described it in an interview with NME saying that it's really bad that kids are killing kids

Obviously it's gotta have a feel for the concept of the album too, so it might have something to do with having to bow to peer pressure i.e. The Patient had to follow the crowd when he was a teen so he wouldn't get picked on

Muse – Knights of Cydonia Lyrics 19 years ago
I interpret this with one of two meanings. The first has already been looked at i..e the face of Cydonia, four horsemen of the apocalypse etc

The second is political, which is what the album mostly entails. The Knights could be the citizens of the country, and Bellamy is calling for people to speak up against democratic leaders and maybe overthrow them

"Come ride with me through the veils of history" This line indicates that Bellamy wants show the listener history always repeats itself, in that when a party is elected into office, they always fall through the same pitfalls and eventually lose popularity

"I'll show you how God falls asleep on the job" This line shows how God can allow such men to become the most powerful on Earth and bring death and corruption... God doesn't care anymore and would rather fall asleep than help

"How can we win, when fools can kings?" This is asking the question of how can we destroy terrorism and overrule dictators when we have "fools" as leaders i.e. the supposed "Kings"

"Don't waste your time or time will waste you" Do something now before it's too late, and you're too old to stand up and fight for justice

"No-one's going to take me alive,
The time has come to make things right,
You and I must fight for our rights,
You and I must fight to survive"

Those four lines then turn to the citizens of countires such as Iraq etc who have had, or are still run by, dictators, and that they have to pluck up the courage and strength to overthrow their current governements, and in doing so no-one will throw them into prison "no-one's gonna take me alive" or kill them "you and I must fight to survive"

Basically, the song sums up the album with some populations wanting governments to step down, or to stop the destruction in less economically developed countries, and in these LEDCs the people have to find their own way to remove unwanted dictators or to destroy evil their own way

Muse – Take a Bow Lyrics 19 years ago
it's definitely something to do with Bush and Blair. It's basically depciting the fact that Bush and Blair have sent many soliders in iraq to their deaths i.e."And risk, you will risk
You will risk all the lives and their souls"

The song is also saying that because of all the hatred and death you have brought upon their respective countries, Bellamy hopes that they pay the price for their actions "Burn in hell". The line "Take a bow" is sarcastic and ironic, as these leaders believe people should be applauding and loving them for removing dictators, and yet all their citizens want is for them to end the horror in Iraq and step down as President and Prime Minister respectively

My Chemical Romance – Bury Me In Black Lyrics 19 years ago
regarding wonderyears5692's post on the second page... MCR's songs are mainly based on dark and disturbing comic books they read as kids, it's got nothing to do with them wanting to kill people themselves. IT'S CALLED INFLUENCE

Anywhoo, my favourite line in this song is "And what I'm goin through, shot lipgloss through my veins". Just has that certain twang or the way it's said comes across really well

I think this song is about a guy keeps thinking about a girl he likes, but she doesn't like him. he gets drunk every night and phones her, saying he wants to talk to her to explain how much he wants to kill her, just so he can have her
