But wait, the whole thing about recording covers is REcreating the song, not just playing it again, isn't it? The best covers are completely different than previous versions, like Tori Amos' Enjoy the Silence or House of the Rising Sun by Muse... it's finding something new in old tunes and words... Seger was talking about sadness and loneliness. Hetfield is talking about rage - using THE SAME words. Isn't IT amazing? [sorry for my English :)] |
