WOW! Loving this song!!! A friend told me to check out this song, and MAN!!! It is SO WORTH IT!!!!!! I wish I'd heard it sooner!!!! If I had to give it a meaning, I'd say it was about a close friend/bf/gf watching their friend/gf/bf working hard to reach their goals they've set themselves even though they seem so far-fetched. | I spent YEARS listening and fully LOVING this song whenever it played on the radio....but do you think they'd tell me the name of the song after it played...NO! I knew it was a Phil Collins song, and that was my only lead....luckily it was enough, and finally I found it! One of the greatest days of my life! I never said that F11 wrote the song FOR Kane, but it does relate to him, if you know how to put the pieces together. Also it is well known that WWE pays bands to write songs for its wrestlers. Famous examples include Motorhead, P.O.D., Our Lady Peace, etc, and their songs are used as ways of promoting bands/WWE Brand CDs. Now, as for Kane's face, as I said in my first post... his character is "PSYCHOLOGICALLY deformed". The voice box he used was to mask his voice out of fear of being unaccepted by society...(which he pretty much was). Taker is Kane's HALF Brother, and have gone their seperate ways since the Roster Draft began 4 years ago. I understand wrestling is fake...partially. But that doesnt mean the Superstars and Divas don't get injured in the process. I ain't pissed, but I will defend WWE, wherever possible. Everyone has something they will devote themselves to in their lifetime, I'm fortunate enough that for me that thing is WWE. The Ultimate Warrior was one of my favourite wrestlers of the early 90's, and his time in WCW was an exciting one...somewhat pointless, but exciting to watch, anytime to see massive feuds crossover for another chance to be rekindled is always kool, depending on the intensity of the feud of course. (I'm sure you can Agree the Hogan/Warrior feud is something that will never die, much like the Macho Man/Hogan fued.) Finally, as I also mentioned previously, I specified a message to each group, wrestling fans AND music lovers. I merely guided the wrestling fans to a meaning, and offered music lovers a path away from bashing the WWE, and to instead find their own meaning. P.S. Who are we to disagree with one persons idea of a meaning of a song. We're all here to share our ideas of what the song lyrics mean to us...clearly a lot of us have forgotten that in a struggle to be known as the one person, with the one RIGHT idea. But as I'm sure you know...there is NO right answer (even if the band's official site states a meaning to a song, that doesn't mean that individuals can't share their take on what the song means to them). |

For all those WWE fans/Music lovers who say "this has nothing to do with Kane" ...Think Again! You obviously never watched The Attitude era of the WW'F' (The bulk of 1998-1999). Basically, Kane had relationships with Chyna, and Tori, which both ended in heartbreak when they turned on him to join members of DX. (if ur not a wrestling fan, u don't need to know what that means, and all I have to say to you is Two Words: "S**K IT!") *Insert Cheap Pop Here* How this relates to the song is simple...Kane's character is a Psychologically deformed character looking for love, and a normal life, then when he thinks he's finally found it...the Diva turns on him, making him feel more inadequate. A recent(-ish) example is the relationship between Kane and Lita. For a time it seemed like their marriage may actually last...until Edge returned and the whole feud with Edge/Lita and Matt Hardy started. I could go on forever about wrestling and the psychology behind it, but I wont. For wreslting fans looking for a meaning behind the song, the answers are in the lyrics/in my vague expalntion above. Music lovers...if u really care so much about finding a meaning for the song, look no further than ur own heart... To me, this song is about a lot of my past relationships which have mostly been long distance ones. Its that feeling you get from knowing a person and then finding out they're moving away, or that they don't live in the same city as you and so they go back to wherever they're from. And even though you try to keep the relationship going, you gradually feel the distance growing until suddenly you feel like you hardly know them anymore. I dont really feel like goin into detail, so if u wanna know, leave me a message or somethin. |
