| Sarah Bettens – Stay Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Wow...what a great song! I've loved Sarah since back in the old K's Choice days. She's got an awesome voice (and is pretty cute too, I might add!) Anyway, I think she's talking about finally letting someone in after shutting them out or not allowing them to get close. Obviously the person she is talking to is someone that she KNOWS she needs, but she may not have made it as clear to the other person. By saying: "...I don't really wanna know How this story will unfold I can only hope you'll wait untill it's told I'll go out and find my way You can do the same But I need all, all of you" I think she is saying that she can't promise what's going to happen later, but she's imploring the person to stay and wait for her, even if it means they both need to figure stuff out on their own first. Anyway, great song on a fantastic album! |

| Melissa Etheridge – Nowhere To Go Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is one of my favorite of Melissa's. It's so simple but powerful. You can tell all she wants to do is just spend time with someone...doesn't matter where or what they are doing...just being together is enough. That's love...finding happiness in just being. I would imagine that if you're from a small town or a "nowhere" kind of place you can especially relate to having "nowhere to go". I've felt like that plenty of times and I'm from a big city... |

| Indigo Girls – Touch Me Fall Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I've always thought this song was about being mentally ill. Mainly because it is so all over the place and so are the lyrics...they are just little snippets that don't directly relate to each other. And then it's on the Swamp Ophelia CD (and as you may know Ophelia was Hamlet's girlfriend and she was insane and committed suicide) So...that's what has always just come to mind when i hear it. I might be way off on that. It is an awesome song though...no doubt. |

I have heard a lot of songs in my lifetime, but this one...this is the most amazing song I have ever heard, bar none. If you aren't moved by Emily's amazing lyrics here, then I don't know...you have never really loved anything and lost it. Wow. No words can really describe it. |
