| Emery – The Secret Lyrics | 19 years ago |

parts of this song make me think part of it could be sung by judas, the betrayer of Jesus. "When I hear the rain, should I be afraid for my life?" Mark 4: "35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" 41 They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"" There is also the part where he says, "Why do you look at me that way? I told you that I was too busy to see you. I would never keep a secret from you." Also, I think that the last part could be Jesus talking to Judas, or even all of the disciples, from "Is it over?" to "I still love you, I swear, I always will." Just my personal thoughts. |

about the "it was a matter of time, i always said i could see but now i'm going blind...it was a matter of miserable time, but i heard somewhere, there was a cure for useless eyes. based on the video i saw of Aaron at cornerstone 05 i believe this refers to John 9:39, 39 Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." |

so I think that the "you might laugh but you'll never smile" comes from "the haunted palace" by edgar allan poe. " While, like a rapid ghastly river, Through the pale door; A hideous throng rush out forever, And laugh — but smile no more." whatever...maybe i'm wrong. but i'm pretty decently sure. |
