He's definitely saying "I'm choking it to you, Miss I'm choking it to you." Its just a little bit of dirty humor. I mean come on, "I'll turn from sad to blue"? Go ahead now tell em all about it. So I also think that might explain the 'What good would fingers be if it weren't for diamond rings?" line. Pretty funny I think. |

It's funny I'm not big on traditionals, but for some reason I'm familiar with "Hang-ed I will be" and this is clearly a reworking of that song, or a different version of that song. The reason I mention the connection is a few people are confused about the reason behind the murder, but in that other version, the murder is even more hilariously inexplicable. One last quick thought. I was just thinking about the water and the fruit and it seems to me she was merely stating that once she lost him/her and realized her mistake, she couldn't go back on it and fix it: "You've changed some: Water runs from the snow" --Once snow melts into water it can't really turn back into snow. (Well, technically it does, but you know what I mean). And the same thing with the fruit, a peach is a very different thing from a plum and a pear. Well, those are my thoughts. Feel free to argue. |

My God! I got this account just to tell you all off. I personally feel you all are really really really really off as far as the meaning of the song and individual phrases. Basically the song seems to me to be apparently about sabotaging a blossoming relationship. "we speak in the store i'm a sensitive bore you seem markedly more and i'm oozing surprise ---she's surpised at how someone she reveres is acting towards her but it's late in the day and you're well on your way what was golden went gray and i'm suddenly shy --yet she's still unsure and the gatherin' floozies afford to be choosy and all sneezing darkly in the dimming divide --and envious of the nonchalant floozies i have read the right books to interpret your looks you were knocking me down with the palm of your eye --though she's pretty sure that person's attracted to her this was unlike the story it was written to be i was riding its back when it used to ride me --here's where you were wrong. This stanza (and the one before it) is definetly stating that the person is actively persuing a relationship with her whereas she usually doesn't have much luck, and this confuses her. I'd explain more but i think it's fairly self-explainatory. and we were galloping manic to the mouth of the source we were swallowing panic in the face of its force ---this stanza is either them drawing closer and closer or them consumating their relationship and i was blue and unwell made me bolt like a horse --i fixed the typo and this also where you're wrong. this little part right here is pretty key, and it's definetly 'BOLT' and 'HORSE' and not 'whores', i double checked. But whores? How in the hell would that even remotely make sense? Feeling BLUE and UNWELL and that making you bold like a whore? Anyways, she's confused about this person actually liking her so, and in wondering about this she brings herself down and leaves, possibly for fear of rejection. now it's done watch it go ---relationship's over you've changed some: water runs from the snow ---It's definetly 'RUNS'. I'm not sure exactly the signifigance of water running from the snow, it could mean alot of things, possibly time passing. This is a weird line, because, agree with me or not, she's definetly mourning a lost love, and water seems like a positive thing over snow. If anyone reading this is smarter than I pegged them for being and knows of the possible metaphorical signifigance of this line, please let me know. am i so dear? do i run rare? ---Another key part you missed. She is definetly confused as to how this person could've been attracted to her and why that person's hurt over her leaving. 'Am I truly so dear to you? Am I really that intersting?' you've changed some: --person's attitude has changed toward her peach, plum, pear --Once again I'm not sure of the metaphorical signifigance. That's basically it. Sorry to boil down such a beautiful song to such simple ugly terms. I'm also sorry if was an internet-ass. |
