i think this song is all about self examination, and truly getting to know yourself, the good and the bad. to me the lyrics fit perfectly, stressing how meaningful 'going inside' can be. everyone should take the time out of the meaningless hustle and bustle of their daily routine, and do what is most important in life, which is nothing, just sit and get to know yourself.

jawa, i doubt thats why they dont play them, i bet theyr still on drugs, maybe not as much as the fungus days, but they definatly were during the morning view period, on their dvd dj kilmore goes 'who wants to hit this blunt with me?', and in alive at red rocks they have the crazy animations for all their trippy songs, i bet the reason they dont play them is because honestly half the people who go to an incubus show wont know or even apreciate theyr old stuff, theyr not ganna play stuff that only their hardcore fans like, they have to make all their fans happy |

I personally think that this song is about john and his herion problem, just as knock me down was about hillel and his overdose. When john left they band they pretty much thought he was dead or about to die, and from the same thing that killed hillel, the and both songs have very simial lyrics. In knock me down the last lines are "It's so lonely when you don't even know yourself", and my friends says "So hard and lonely too When you don't know yourself" |
