i'm going to start off by saying this is such an awesome song that I really got into. as for what it means, my interpretation is that something has deeply impacted and changed the life of this person making him question himself...he questions if there is anything for him to live for and keep going ...if there is anything out there for him "sharp disaster in a fresh new coma" - an event has happened in his life where its left him emotionally unaware of everything else around him, he is emotionally numb "was it worth it when it was over" - he questions if he made the right decision in the first place. he put everything into it and was happy but this new event has left him deeply hurt "proving yourself right, you'd make the biggest noise"- he had a gut instinct that something would go wrong but he tried to overlook them and play it off before the big disaster happened... but his instinct had been right ... "Well I lock my hands behind my head I'd cover my heart and hit the deck I'd brace myself for the impact if I were you" - he's trying emotionally to protect his heart and his emotions from the impact of the disaster that he has just faced but there still might be more to come "(It's a long way) (For an answer) (Is there any news) (Is there any word) (Is there trauma) (Or a struggle) (Am I missing) (Was the body found)" - this event has had so much clout on him that he is lost within himself, he doesn't fully comprehend everything that has happened to himself but he knows he is not ok "is there anything worth looking for, worth loving for, worth lying for? is there anything worth waiting for, worth living for, worth dying for?"- he questions if it's worth it for him to go on in life, if there is anything out there for him. he wants there to be meaning in his life but at this moment in time there is none. |
