And as far as I know, Columbus didn't even sail around the world. It was in an expedition led by Ferdinand Magellan that the world was first circumnavigated. Tampax, I like your "acid trip" theory, it sounds good. =) Now about the song: I've first heard of this song for some time now but I've just recently watched the video. I thought the line "cause I've got a plan" meant he was planning on something to be with the girl but later realized that he could never be with her. But I think the video of this song gives a good ending to the story, the line "cause I've got a plan" meant he was actually planning to commit suicide. The "fucking high" part could mean either high from drugs, or from the sight of the girl. Either of them would go well with the song. Note: Blunt sings "flying high" instead of "fucking high" in the video. Personally, I think that sucked =). The "fucking high" in the line seems perfectly fine to me. I think the line, "There must be an angel with a smile on her face, When she thought up that I should be with you." is referring to a literal angel who could be watching the guy, entertained by the fact that the guy is desperate and is realizing that he could never be with the girl. To sum it up: Boy meets girl with angelic beauty on a crowded place. Boy sees her with another man. Girl catches boy's eye. (please ignore Tampax' glass eye theory) Girl sees that boy is "fucking high". Boy realizes that he can never be with the girl. An angel was amused by the above event. Boy comes up with a plan - commit suicide. Boy commits suicide. The end. |
