I think that in theory communism is a perfect idea but human nature makes it impossible. If we found someone who would always do what is best for the people and didn't have to work to keep voters happy it would be a much better world to live in. Keeping the voters happy may seem like a good idea but so many people don't know what is good for them or act like sheep. They don't think for themselves they go with what is popular, they care about things for 5 mins after they happen. They see immediate action, it makes them happy and they stop caring about the issue even when 99% of the time the problem is long term. The problem is finding a person to be the leader without ever getting selfish. But that’s just my opinion I’m not sure of the views of RATM. Anyway back to the song. It really struck a nerve with me today. Labour with their damn expansion of school scheme, why are the wasting the money my parents pay (a ridicules amount when they probably won’t even get a pension) to get me an education on building a dance studio when the English department has broken OHPs and can’t afford to photocopy sheets and are using 20 year old copies of books. These stupid plan things, they get more money for people passing exams so they can build a bigger school, have more students and the heads get paid more. They people who work their asses of and get all the credits grades that make the school look good and get them this money what do they get? Fuck all. Well to be fair they do get the odd certificate. But that is bullshit when the assholes who don’t work are getting to go on trips to the cinema and shit because of this inclusion bull. Basiclly the school system misses the point and is corrupt and fucked up. Teachers have told me they only went into teaching because they didn’t know what else to do. Others know the problem, and there is nothing they feel they can do, well there has to be something. Don’t they realise the same thing is happening to their kids at school? |

i love this song, to me it is about growing up. becoming more mature, looking back and realsiing you've made a mistake and regretting it but becoming a better person because of it. i thik he wouldn't make the same decision now but it has probably made him a better father now |
